Fans of the Diablo series know that Blizzard has recently released some hints that’s how beautiful Diablo IV will be. Unfortunately, when it happened, it didn’t change the fact that we will probably have to wait 2 years for the 4th generation of this stunning series to be released. If you can’t wait that long, we’ve put together a list of games like Diablo 3 you should check out.
15. Lost Ark
This one is a little out of the left-field, as you will have to undertake your quest just to play it. As soon as rumor mills described what this team of South Korean developers was doing with Lost Ark, Diablo fans were quickly sold. There is nothing compared to this game in the RPG realm for presentation. The only shame is it’s not freely available in the West, so there’s no official way to play it for many fans of Diablo. But you kind of access it using a VPN and faking your location to be in Korea, with a bit of persistence.
14. Shadows: Awakening
There’s no denying the similarities between shadows and Diablo 3; it’s an RPG crawler-based in the dungeon featuring 4 characters that are all playable. This opens the world of variations in gameplay possibilities for anyone looking for an additional level of novelty or something a little different this game is developers have even put in a series of puzzles to enhance the gameplay even further. And they offer an enjoyable break from the usual grinding nature of RPGs. One feature we like most was that you could save your progress even if you don’t meet a specific checkpoint.
13. Dungeon Siege
Like Diablo and shadows, awakening dungeon siege at its core shares many of the game elements from Blizzard so popular. As you control a somewhat humble character, you can turn them into a murderous adventure as a new Hunter riches while building a set of weapons and apparel. Unscented apart from many other RPGs is its unique combat that appears to be more intensive than many others. How you build your character will directly affect your success in the combat sequences.
12. Warhammer: Chaosbane
If you can picture a world where Diablo and his minions have been replaced with a series of chaos gods, then you’ll be able to get an idea of what Warhammer: Chaos bane offers. They might even find this game a little more engaging for the money, as it’s more violent and has a darker feel to it. It’s certainly unique among RPG games. We liked that the class you pick can not use many of the items you encounter, so you won’t waste your time accumulating useless trash items.
11. Victor Vran
If you’re yearning for a world full of demons to slay, then this is the game for you. While it doesn’t offer you anything truly unique other than its setting in a Victorian era, it’s still highly rated on Steam and more than capable of standing on its own two feet, especially for those looking for games with the element of Diablo. You can customize your character; although you’re limited to just one character, it offers you many options. The action is intense, unlike many Diablo series clones; it remains fun and engaging throughout without having to worry about its grind.
10. Titan Quest
Our reviewers couldn’t Diablo 2 to the list without giving it an honorable mention to Titan quest. What was released back in 2006 nearly rivaled diablo 2 for its crown as the best RPG game on the market. This is mainly because the developers shook what they considered being the core of RPG gaming when they introduced the concept of combining two classes. Although it’s nudity 15 years old, Titan’s quest has aged well, and if you’re up for a global mythological quest, you’ll spend hours enjoying titans with little no trouble.
9. Sacred
Ignore the fact that some people have accused this game of just being a clone. You’ll quickly see that it will earn its place among high fantasy RPGs, especially when compared to the game it’s accused of cloning. Despite it being a slightly lesser-known franchise, it is a blizzard game and because of this alone is worthy of its place on the list. If you’ve never played this, you’ve got hours of game time ahead of you, and it’s already spawned several different titles. Many expansions start with the original, as although the sequels are aesthetically pleasing; they’re slightly less ambitious. Saturday open sandbox world rewards expiration, which is different when compared to other dungeon crawlers and RPGs.
8. MU Online
More of an MMORPG than a true RPG, the style of play and 3rd person point of view is nearly identical to Diablo, and therefore it makes a list. That you can only play three of the purest RPG classes Elf, Wizard, and Knight, making it even more appealing to the Genre fans.
7. Grim Dawn
Built on the success of Titan’s quest and its dual-class system, grim dawn offers more diverse gameplay than its earlier brother but skips the mythology genre and aims more at a medieval setting in this dark fantasy romp. It’s closer in gameplay to diablo 3 while being a little more grungy and mature. Some people might find the gameplay a little too slow, but we highly recommend checking it out.
6. Last Epoch
One of the recent additions to the list is a modest but highly entertaining RPG very similar to many on the list. Featuring a dynamic class system not too similar to grim dawn and Titan quest, you can strengthen your base class to create a more versatile and powerful character. The addition of spherical mana and health arms is certainly a tribute to the original Diablo game offering users a familiar and interesting interface. I have a very affordable price this dark fantasy RPG is certainly worthy of a download.
5. Torchlight
Whether you choose the first or second game in the series, we couldn’t recommend either the more highly many developers branched off after successfully developing diablo 1 and 2, which may mean much of the music used in torchlight may have the feel of Diablo. Still, it’s cartoon-like graphics and its setting in a steampunk environment but certainly, make it a different game. We particularly like the variety of classes available and the fact that the developers put a lot of focus on creating an addictive level of loot for you to hunt for, putting a particular focus on increasing your theory-crafting skills while hunting for some mouth-watering bonuses.
4. Worgen – Lords of Mayhem
One of the few criticisms you’ll hear about the Diablo series is their over cartoon like graphics. Others didn’t like the arcade-like gameplay, which made the game feel less deep and hardcore than its predecessors. Therefore, we added volume lords of mayhem to the list while remaining fun and playable this game has enemies and highly detailed characters that clash in some electrifying combat sequences. Still, the artwork and the atmosphere created in the game are far darker than many on the list.
3. Book of Demons
I knew what to hear in this for a throwback to the hack and slash nature of RPGs will love this game, as this will certainly satisfy any of your desire for a bit of brutality. Developers combine a dungeon crawler and Dual card game into an RPG with a unique twist that may appear like an odd pairing on the surface works seamlessly, resulting in a unique twist on an already interesting formula. The idea is to strengthen your deck rather than collect loot as you travel through a unique landscape backed up by stunning graphics and artwork. Much of the time of this game, despite its ominous undertones, it’s based on a papercraft/storybook aesthetic.
2. Path of Exile
Now, if you want to find a clone of Diablo, look no further than the Path of Exile. There’s no denying that this game was inspired by the first two versions of the game above. It should be the rightful successor to diablo 2. As a free to play online aRPG, we love the fact that you can completely customize how you play because of the in-depth layers of gameplay that the developers have built-in. From its armor sockets to skill gems, you can build a surfboard desk skill tree, all of which will come together to create a character to rival any in the aRPG realm.
1. Diablo II
If you feel you flogged Diablo 3 to death, why not just take a step back to Diablo 2? Many of you may not even have played on this version of the game. As a single-player RPG Diablo 2 remains unrivaled, it’s stuck to the core formula that made the initial offering in this series so popular. Still, they added some additional features that remain iconic among RPGs even today. Foremost I said music to develop the atmosphere the game is unrivaled.
