the farmer’s almanac to tera online (february 2018)

hi i’m from FF (the poor man’s server) and i’m here for the poor man’s guide to farming tera online. this is not for the weak of heart and it’s definitely not for anyone who doesn’t have depression/enjoys being alive

also i wrote this on NA (EME) so if some things are different to EU/other regions sry!!!!!!!!!!! I’m not fixing it

Requirements

Level 65
- Bonus level 65 characters generates additional gold
iLvl 412 minimum
- Higher iLvl makes generating gold faster

Recommended

Elite Status
24/24 hours of the day as free time
Immunity to the pain of grinding TERA Online
Absence of the need to sleep
A gun for when you finally decide to end it all

Note that you can’t technically do all of these things (like Island of Dawn Vanguards + 412 Vanguards) per character but you can mix and match to give yourself some illusion of variety.

WARNING: you will not ever want to play TERA Online if you do everything in this guide. (but do you really want to play anyway lol)

Ghillieglade (Guardian+)

TL;DR: Do it on all of your level 65 alts, even if they’re only in Guardian.

Purchase this scroll at a Vanguard Merchant for some insignificant amount of credits. You’ll need two scrolls per character per day. If you have Elite Status a reusable version of the scroll can be found on the Elite Status bar for free for all of your characters.

Follow the EssentialMana guide if you’re unfamiliar with Ghillieglade. I’d recommend using Option #2 listed where you skip the Giant & Gatekeeper. The dungeon should take you a maximum of 2 minutes on even the least geared characters.

REWARDS: Gems (Ruby, Sapphire, Emerald, Diamond) in varying amounts. You are guaranteed a minimum of 1 Ruby (100g) and a maximum of 3 Diamonds (30,000g) with varying amounts of gem drops in between. Other drops are non-tradable and, while useful for gearing, won’t get you gold.

Island of Dawn (Guardian+, Recommended Frostmetal+, Recommended for Alts)

TL;DR: Grind the lowest tier Island of Dawn quest for as long as you can muster it to make a mediocre amount of Golden Talents.

You want to do the low-tier quest Hunt Brutal Basilisks. If you prefer you can do Hunt Brutal Orisks or Hunt Brutal Ovoliths. It doesn’t matter, they all give the same rewards. The gold comes from Brilliant Enchanting Box. The worse your gear is, the longer this takes.

Guaranteed to drop 7 Golden Talents each box. Double Vanguards are officially over on NA which means if you do 16 of this Vanguard you will get 112 Golden Talents per character. I recommend only doing 16 of this Vanguard on your alts. Also, only do this is if you can handle mindlessly killing BAMs for an extended period of time.

The vanguard itself gives 120g, so 16 of them will net you 1920g. Golden Talents sell for anywhere between 15-20g, so 112 Talents @ 15g will net you an additional 1680g. Net total: 3600g for the low, low price of your brain cells.

412 Vanguards (Guardian+, Recommended Twistshard+, Recommended for Alts)

TL;DR: If you have some geared alts to carry Kalivan’s Challenge and Ravenous Gorge, time to IMS.

All of these dungeons can be done in Guardian gear, but I recommend higher gear to clear them more efficiently. If you are IMSing, chances are that you will match with undergeared DPS and the dungeons will take longer than they should. A group of geared players can do multiple of these very quickly. I’d recommend Kalivan’s Challenge and Ravenous Gorge. Steer clear of Shattered Fleet unless you really hate yourself. The main reward is the 600g vanguard. If you can clear these quickly with geared players, you can farm gold very fast. If you’re solo-queueing with a Guardian alt, I’d recommend skipping this one.

In theory, you can complete each of these dungeons 4 times per day (Elite) and then use instance reset scrolls to complete an additional 4. Luckily, you can only complete 16 Vanguards per day, so if you really feel this dedicated, I’d opt for 8 Ravenous Gorges and 8 Kalivan’s Challenges. Net total: 9600g per character. You’ll also pick up a handful of Golden Talents and Silver Talents that can be sold.

Guardian Legion (Guardian+, Recommended Frostmetal+, Recommended for Alts)

TL;DR: Do the same boring quest 50+ times a day across all of your characters to make an absurd amount of gold, and it’ll only cost you 8 hours of sleep.

This is new content introduced January 31, 2018 on NA. Earn points by completing the mind-numbing tasks assigned at a handful of locations over and over again. 100,000 points grants you 1 box and a minor vanguard. The main reward for this is the Guardian Legion Jewel Box.

	The vanguard can only be completed once per day, despite being able to claim 40 rewards per day.
	The main reward. You can get 40 of these per character per day. Guaranteed to contain a minimum of 2 Rubies each box.

If you complete 40 of these missions on 1 character, you will finish with 40 Guardian Legion Jewel Boxes and 600g from the Vanguard. At minimum, you will have 80 Rubies which is 8000g for a grand total of 8600g minimum. This can be completed on multiple characters per day (WARNING: doing this content on multiple characters will make you want to quit the game faster than any other content).

439+ Vanguards (Frostmetal+, Recommended Stormcry)

TL;DR: This is just what you get for playing the game on your main character. If you’re actually trying to make efficient gold this isn’t the correct choice.

I’ll be honest I only recommend running RK9 lol. You can run Sky Cruiser/Thaumetal Refinery Hard/Lilith’s Keep Hard if you really hate yourself but it’s not worth it.

You get 720g from the Vanguard. There is a chance that the dungeon will drop gems like Emeralds and Diamonds, but you’ll have to roll for them if they do drop, and they aren’t guaranteed.

Net reward: 720g per dungeon completed. Possibly a tip of 10,000g if you get a Diamond, but don’t hold your breath. If you’re geared enough to do RK9 Hard Mode you’ll bump that up to a staggering 750g. Really good. It’ll only cost you 30+ minutes and significantly more than 750g in consumables to complete.

Harrowhold (Frostmetal+, Recommended Stormcry+, Recommended for Alts, Not Recommended for New Players)

TL;DR: If you don’t know how to do Harrowhold, if you can’t find a raid, or are otherwise incapable of doing this then don’t do it. Otherwise, just clear every week and sell the Superior Etching Boxes.

NOTE: This is the 20-man raid, so if you are a new player and do not have a raid, skip this. If you are incapable of clearing this content, skip this. If you don’t have a raid for other reasons, skip this.

NOTE2: You can clear this a maximum of once per week, so if you can clear on alts it’s highly recommended.

NOTE3: The longer it takes you to clear Harrowhold, the less efficient it is. Ideally you should clear 1-4 in less than an hour, otherwise you might as well just do something else lol

Go on over to the EssentialMana Guide if you are new to Harrowhold. This content does not give a Vanguard, but gives numerous drops for Phase 4. If you are on NA, this includes old “bonus” drops of 500 Tier 12 Feedstock and 5 Blessed Enigmatic Scrolls. Pretty great stuff.

The main rewards you’re looking for from Harrowhold are the Superior Etching Boxes and another chance at Diamonds. If you clear P1-4, you will get a minimum of 3 Superior Etching Boxes. The amount of gold you get from this depends on your server. You’ll have to check broker.

Net gain: ???, the knowledge that you can clear Harrowhold in 2018, confidence boost if you don’t die to firewall, possibly gold

Desperate Players Only (Guardian+, Not Recommended for Anyone)

DISCLAIMER: It’s more effective to use Metamorphic Tokens for crafting Deathwrack weapons and selling those but only if you have an absurd amount of tokens (aka if you’re not a new player). I wouldn’t really recommend doing anything in this section but if you’re a Chinese gold selling bot then go for it. I might add an actual section for crafting Deathwrack weapons later on but I’m too lazy to do it right now (lol).

Masterwork Alkahest sells for 1g 20s to merchants and can be purchased for 12 Metamorphic Tokens each.
This means 10,000 Metamorphic Tokens will net you about 999g 60s.
(Contrast: If you sold 500,000 Metamorphic Tokens to a merchant you would make 50,000g. If you spent the same amount of tokens to craft a +15 Deathwrack weapon, you could sell it for 250,000g. Food for thought)
NOTE: You need Metamorphic Tokens to buy enchanting materials, so only do this if you actually don’t play the game and only care about making gold.

Fine Niveots can be purchased for 400 Vanguard credits each. Depending on what crystal you buy and what server you are on, they sell for varying amounts.
NOTE: Because of Elite Continuous Crystalbind, the price of these crystals has gone down a lot. They’re only really used for making dyads now.

Lastly, hunting the World BAMs can get you Diamond and Emerald drops as well. These are hunted by multiple players on every server and are mainly sought after because they drop Elemental Essence. They’re difficult to find and if you’re on a PVP server, you’ll probably have to fight for them. If you’re only trying to make money, it’s a waste of your time.

TLDR: The Quickest Way To Make Gold

$100 (USD) will get you 12,000 EMP, when sold at 1:35 will get you 420,000g.
