Even though the point of the game is to fight dragons and other beasts, and complete quests and missions, it is still nice to relax every now-and-then. So in this list, I will be talking about the top 5 homes in Skyrim.
This list will be sticking to the pre-made homes that are available when you buy normal version of Skyrim. This list is completely subjective. Your opinion might differ from the opinion of this list, and that’s okay!
5: Hjerim (hy-r-um)
Acording to Fandom, Hjerim “is located in Windhelm. The house consists of a couple floors, a few large rooms and a hidden room as well. Hjerim has a large armory too. It belonged to Friga Shatter-Shield, until she was murdered by the Butcher.
Buying the cleanup package will clear its blood-soaked fixtures, allowing the purchase of the upgrades needed to turn the room into an Alchemy and Enchanting workshop.” The house is built to look very rustic and old which matches the look of the Skyrim game as a whole. The location which you can buy the house is close to black smith facilities, and other needed amenities in the game.
4: Vlindrel Hall
If you’ve seen the architecture created by the Dwemer, also referred to as the dwarves, in Skyrim you will know that they are very good builders. By purchasing this house, you will have your own Dwemer architecture under your feet. Mentioned by Fandom “Vlindrel Hall is a purchasable property in Markarth.
This house is the highest of all the homes in Markarth and offers a wonderful view of the Dwemer buildings, waterfalls, and surrounding mountains. The Understone Keep is a short trip away, accessible along the upper walkway.” Vlindrel Hall also offers a large selection of books in a museum-type room located within its walls.
3: Proudspire Manor
According to The Unofficial Elder Scroll Pages “Proudspire Manor is a three-floor house that can be bought in the city Solitude. This home is the most expensive one in Skyrim. It has several benefits obtainable, for purchase, for your crafting needs. To obtain this home, you need to complete two quests the man who cried wolf and Elisif’s tribute. After completing these quests, Elisif will allow you to buy the manor for 25 000 gold..”
With the purchase of this house, you will have a private balcony to look over the forests, sea, and a small portion of Winterhold can be seen as well. Upon its purchase it looks as if no one has been inside for centuries. Investing your money into fixing it up will turn it into one of the most beautiful houses in Skyrim. Its location allows access to the best shopping district in the game. You can make your way there in the sunny and warm atmosphere that Solitude offers.
2: Honeyside Manor
Honeyside is a homes available for purchase in the Skyrim game. It is not the largest house but it’s certainly one of the prettiest homes, with its log cabin looks and vibes.
You can see the city from one side and access your balcony to leave the city on the other. You will also have a small garden and two chickens that you can kill whenever you please.
After being bought, your character will use this home as his/her residence within Riften to become a Thane. Honeyside may only be bought after the completion of two quests.
1: Severin Manor
This house follows the design of other buildings that you will see in the town of Raven Rock. Information from Fandom states that Severin Manor is a big, Redoran-style house set in Raven Rock, halfway between market square and the Earth Stone.
It is the only house available to a player within Solstheim.
This house, created out of stone and brick has the look of living inside of a giant, dead alien-insect. You will also have access to your own forge within the walls of your home, one of the benefits of having a home made of stone.
