#10 Ghorza gra-Bagol
An Orsimer, or Orcish, blacksmith who resides in the dwarven city of Markarth and works with her highly inept apprentice Tacitus Sallustius. She acts as a common-level Smithing Trainer and as a blacksmith or merchant as usual. She chose to leave her Orcish Stronghold with her brother, determined not to become just another wife to the tribe’s chief. After completing the quest “Skilled Apprenticeship,” she becomes a marriage candidate in which you must bring her a book called Last Scabbard of Akrash. Once you complete the quest, you can both marry her and enter any Orc Strongholds in Skyrim.
#9 Uthgerd the Unbroken
She is a strong Nord warrior who can usually be found in The Bannered Mare or sleeping in her house in Whiterun. She attempted to join The Companions back in the day, but during the trial, to prove herself worthy, she killed the boy she was matched with, which subsequently killed any chances she had of joining. She’s a mighty and accomplished warrior and becomes a possible wife and traveling companion after beating her in a bar brawl.
#8 Taarie
Taarie is the Altmer or High Elf, a merchant who runs the Radiant Raiment in Solitude, working with her sister Endarie. Uniquely, Taarie is the only Altmer you can marry in all of Skyrim! She isn’t available as a wife until after completing the quest “Fit for a Jarl” and until you invest gold into her shop. Despite how she usually treats the player, as if she is in a higher social class than any adventurer in the land, after marriage, Taarie shows a much softer and kinder side to the Dragonborn.
#7 Jenassa
Jenassa is a Dunmer, or Dark Elves, working as a mercenary looking for clients in The Drunken Huntsman near the gate of Whiterun. She also is much easier to unlock as a marriage candidate. Once you hire her for five-hundred gold, she becomes an option for marriage. She makes a wonderful follower or wife for any stealth-based character due to her dark and murderous nature. She will be entirely on board with stealing, assault, and even murder while traveling with the Dragonborn.
#6 Morwen
A proud and kind member of the Skaal tribe on Solstheim, Morwen is a Nord who can be found working on the temple of the Wind Stone until completion of the quest “The Fate of the Skaal.” She initially lived in Falkreath wither her family until her parents passed away. Before leaving Skyrim, Morwen lived as a Soldier, then a mercenary, but she gave up her life of fighting upon moving to Solstheim to be with her mothers’ native people. She can’t be married until the completion of “Morwen’s Request,” in which she tasks you to bring her mother’s necklace back to Falkreath for her.
#5 Shahvee
Shahvee is an Argonian dock-worker who can usually be found just outside the walls of Windhelm working at the tanning rack. She is a very optimistic character, often sharing with the Dragonborn that she has learned to be happy with what she has despite her difficult life. Upon completing her quest “Shahvee’s Amulet,” it is revealed that she is a former thief. And the quest unlocks her as a willing participant for marriage.
#4 Anwen
She is a Redguard priestess who maintains the Temple of Dibella in Markarth. She is unlocked as a marriage candidate after completing the quest “Heart of Dibella,” Until she is married, she never steps foot outside of the temple due to her devotion to Dibella. She has much more assertive dialogue than most other marriage candidates in the game while still maintaining a soft side toward the Dragonborn. Strangely she is one of the only two Redguards in the game that the Dragonborn can marry.
#3 Mjoll the Lioness
A very well-traveled Nordic warrior can usually tell a tale in the Bee and Barb in or wandering around Riften with Aerin. She is a very pure and kind person who believes in doing the right thing. Because of this, she heavily dislikes the Thieves Guild and the Black-Briar family. Upon completion of the quest “Grimsever’s Return,” she is opened up as a candidate for marriage, continuing her kindness by the side of the Dragonborn. You can not, however, separate her and Aerin. If she stays in your house, he will too.
#2 Aela the Huntress
Aela is a Nord Werewolf and high ranking member of The Companions. She is one of only five members in The Circle, who are the guild’s highest-ranked members. Aela offers lycanthropy to the player once enough quests have been completed in her faction, and on top of that, she is an expert level archery trainer. She becomes a candidate for marriage once you wipe out the Silver Hand with The Companions and makes a very ferocious follower, an expert archer and warrior. She is a very strong-willed follower and wife and follows her lust for a hunt and hircine word above all else.
#1 Brelyna Maryon
Found within the College of Winterhold, Brelyna is a Dunmer mystic and apprentice. She is heavily involved in the first two quests of the college and is unlocked as a marriage companion once her quest “Brelyna’s Practice” is completed. She is timid and mostly keeps to herself, often ashamed to be a Dark Elf in the College of Winterhold, thinking too much will be expected from her. With that said, she becomes very kind and friendly to the Dragonborn as they communicate more. She is also an extremely talented mage in combat being one of the few wives who are always better off venturing with the Dragonborn than sitting at home running a shop.
