#10 Eorlund Gray-Mane
The reported best blacksmith in all of Skyrim, and personal blacksmith of the Companions, Eorlund Gray-Mane, is a legend among anyone who works with weapons.
He is Vignar Gray-Mane’s brother, the man who becomes Jarl should the Stormcloaks take Whiterun, and is the only merchant you can purchase Skyforged steel from, making him a unique vendor. He has quite a bit of gold and is located in the center of Whiterun, making him one of the best merchants to sell your loot to or get good weapons from early on.
#9 Niranye
An Altmer, or High Elf, merchant in Windhelm, which is very unusual to see. Surprisingly, she has earned the Nords’ trust around her after being a merchant there for so long. She is a master trader at the general goods store and used to be a Thieves Guild fence until the guild fell into ruin and their network collapsed.
You can get her back as a fence after completing the quest “Summerset Shadows,” making her a very useful place to sell stolen goods without heading to Riften.
#8 Fethis Alor
Fethis is a Dunmer, or Dark Elf, a farmer living in Raven Rock who had a major falling-out with the East Empire Trading Company. This merchant sells many specific goods to Solstheim and acts as the general goods trader in Raven Rock.
He’s a single, widowed father of a girl named Dreyla, who helps him with his shop. Fethis will offer to buy any East Empire Trading Company pendants the Dragonborn finds aside from his usual trading.
#7 Gunmar
The blacksmith for fort Dawnguard, Gunmar is a master level Smithing trainer. He sells regular gear and Dawnguard gear and also sells you armored trolls to use as pets.
He can’t be found until you bring him to Fort Dawnguard during the quest “A New Order,” where you find him hunting a bear, but the pet trolls make it a very useful quest to complete.
#6 The Khajiit Caravans
Zaynabi, Ma’jahd, and Atahbah are the three merchants of the traveling Kahjiit Caravans. Along with acting as regular merchants, each can be a fence for the Thieves Guild after the Dragonborn completes a quest to deliver Moon Sugar to Ri’saad. They have decent gold and carry a wide range of goods, including Skooma and Moon Sugar.
They can also be very convenient, as they’re spread far around Skyrim and can be found in front of any number of cities or wandering the roads.
#5 Gulum-Ei
Gulum-Ei is an Argonian dockworker in solitude, under the East Empire Trading Company’s employment to maintain their warehouse. The Dragonborn will initially meet him during the Thieves Guild quest “Scoundrel’s Folly” where you must interrogate him.
If he is left alive, Gulum-Ei immediately becomes a fence for the Thieves Guild and has a decent amount of gold for selling stolen goods.
#4 Baldor Iron-Shaper
Baldor is a Skaal blacksmith who calls Skaal Village his home. You can first find him working on the temple around the Wind Stone just outside of town until the Dragonborn uses the Bend Will shout on the stone.
Baldor’s specialty comes in the unique weapons and armor he carries, the Stalhrim weapons and armor, and ancient Nordic pickaxes. He is also the main subject of the quest “A New Source of Stalhrim,” in which the Thalmor abducts him in an attempt to learn how to shape Stalhrim.
#3 Enthir
Enthir is a merchant in the College of Winterhold with strong ties to the Thieves Guild. He is the man who “knows how to get things,” as he puts it, and is a very talented wizard.
He can usually be found in the Hall of Attainment or The Frozen Hearth in Winterhold proper. Most of what he sells involves magic, such as staves and robes, and he even acts as a fence for the Dragonborn.
#2 Neloth
He is the master wizard-lord of House Telvanni and the master enchanting trainer said to be one of the oldest and most respected members of House Telvanni, so old that you can find him in The Elder Scrolls 3: Morrowind. He resides in the tower Tel Mithryn with his apprentice, Talvas Fathryon.
He mostly sells staves, but he has both enchanted and unenchanted staves so you can enchant your own, as well as soul gems. Unique to this trainer, if you get your enchanting skill to level ninety, he will refuse to train you out of fear you will become better than him.
#1 Tonilia
A Redguard fence and an honorary member of the Thieves Guild. Despite not technically being a member, she still acts as a pawnbroker, fence, and lookout for Delvin Mallory. She also supplies the armor for recruits and subsequent upgrades for it, and is the first fence the Dragonborn will officially come across.
She has a very decent amount of gold to buy any stolen goods, and her pool of gold is increased as you help the Thieves Guild get back to their former glory. With the Thieves Guild’s full restoration, Tonilia can have up to four-thousand gold to buy your goods with, making her one of the best places to sell your loot in the entire game.
