Restoration is one of the most vital skills that any player should wield in Skyrim. Whatever your play style or character type, you will need to heal to survive and stay alive in the game. Here’s a guide for you to start utilizing the Best Restoration Spells in Skyrim.

1. Bane of the Undead
2. Guardian Circle
3. Close Wounds
4. Poison Rune
5. Grand Healing

1. Bane of the Undead

It is one of the two Master-level Restoration spells that you can start wielding once you reach the Master rank, which is at skill level 90. This can not be purchased but can be unlocked by completing the “Restoration Ritual Spell” quest. After reaching the required level, you may proceed to the College of Winterhold and discuss with Colette Marence your intentions of acquiring knowledge about restoration.

She will then send you to The Midden to meet the Augur of Dunlain. But before you can be taught, you will first need to complete the mage quest “Good Intentions.” It is one of the main quests for the College of Winterhold. Here, you have to consult the Augur regarding a visit by a monk from the Psijic Order.

Once that’s done, the Auger of Dunlain will then put you to the test. You will be stripped of all your weapons and be prepared for an attack. The main point of this is to survive the onslaught by utilizing your restoration spells. It will not be possible for you to retaliate, but regardless, you will get your weapons back and, ultimately, the “Bane of the Undead.”

2. Guardian Circle

After receiving the “Bane of the Undead,” you can then go back to Colette Marence, where she will offer you the “Guardian Circle” for a price. It is the second master Restoration Spell that you can procure in the entire game. The spell is potent in that it can help you recover your health for 20 points per second while driving away any undead that enters your Guardian Circle so long as they’re level 35 and below. If you need more time, you may cast the spell twice, and the duration will increase to 132 seconds. The duration will be for 90 seconds for vampire characters, given that you have the Necromage perk.

3. Close Wounds

It is a Restoration spell that any Dragonborn would need because of its healing potential. As the name suggests, it can close wounds and heal a Dragonborn for 100 points with the cost of 126 Magicka without regeneration perk. You may either find the spell tome randomly or purchase it from Colette at the College of Winterhold.

4. Poison Rune

This is an offensive Restoration spell that can instantly injure or annihilate even living opponents. Once the spell is cast, it will generate an explosion that can damage approaching enemies for 3 points per second. It can be purchased in Tel Mithryn from the merchant Talvas Fathryon.

5. Grand Healing

It is an impressive restoration spell that can heal you and your comrades so long as they’re within the 15 feet radius. It restores 200 health points that can increase to 300 with the Regeneration perk. A Dragonborn may acquire this spell from Colette once he reaches level 70. It can also be acquired after completing the “Hunt and Gather” quest.
