Established in Skyrim are standing stones etched with a different Tamirelic constellation scattered throughout its vast province. These standing stones hold magical powers that will give your Dragonborn special attributes and abilities to give you an upper advantage in your gameplay.
This guide will identify each of the thirteen standing stones in Skyrim, their effects if you activate the stone and each stone’s location.
The Thief Stone
LOCATION: One of the Guardian Stones, this is located right southwest of Riverdale.
EFFECTS: Boosts leveling by 20% for Thief skills.
The Mage Stone
LOCATION: One of the Guardian Stones, this is located right southwest of Riverdale.
EFFECTS: Boosts leveling by 20% for Mage skills.
The Warrior Stone
LOCATION: One of the Guardian Stones, this is located right southwest of Riverdale.
EFFECTS: Boosts leveling by 20% for Warrior skills.
The Atronach Stone
LOCATION: Just south of Windhelm.
EFFECTS: Boost of 50 Magicka and 50% magic spells absorption. But, you will get a 50% reduction in Magicka regeneration rate.
The Apprentice Stone
LOCATED: South of Solitude and north of Morthal.
EFFECT: You will increase the Magicka regeneration rate by 100%, but you will also have a 100% increase in weakness to magic.
The Lady Stone
LOCATION: The Lady Stone is located in a lake west of The Guardian Stones and not far from Riverdale.
EFFECTS: Your health and stamina will regenerate 25% quicker.
The Lord Stone
LOCATION: The Lord Stones are difficult to find, as they are in the middle of mountains. The best way to get to the Lord Stones is by traveling south from Dawnstar to the Tower of Mzark and traveling northwest to get to the Lord Stones.
EFFECTS: You will get a 50 point increase in damage resistance and 25% magic resistance.
The Ritual Stone
LOCATION: The Ritual Stone is east of Whiterun.
EFFECTS: Once a day, you can raise all dead enemies to fight for you for 60 seconds.
The Serpent Stone
LOCATION: This stone is located on an iceberg near Bleakcoast Cave, which is not too far southeast of Winterhold.
EFFECTS: Once a day, you can paralyze a target for 5 seconds, and you can deal 25 points of damage.
The Steel Stone
LOCATION: This is located southwest of Solitude. To reach you there more easily, you can walk from the Statue to Meridia and walk north to reach the stone’s location.
EFFECTS: Your armor will have no weight, and you will have no movement penalty. You can also carry 100 more weight.
The Shadow Stone
LOCATION: This stone is just south of Riften.
EFFECT: One a day, you can be invisible for 60 seconds.
The Tower Stone
LOCATION: This stone is also located on an iceberg, and you can reach the iceberg by walking from Winterhold westwards to the iceberg.
EFFECT: You can unlock any expert or lower level lock once per day.
The Lover Stone
LOCATION: This is located right north of Kolskeggr Mine and east of Markarth
EFFECT: Every single one of your skills will increase 15% quicker.
