When you reach level 60 as Disciple of War or Magic, you get access to Wondrous Tails activity, which allows you to do already completed quests. For each old duty you complete, you are rewarded with useful items. Here is a detailed guideline for Wondrous Tails.
Receive the Journal
The Journal is an indispensable element of Wondrous Tails. To receive it, go to NPC Khloe Aliapoh and speak to her. The Journal she grants to you will contain 16 objectives, which you can complete during one week. There are new objectives in the Journal every 7 days.
Complete objectives
Take a look at the squares in the Journal and pick an objective to your liking. As you complete it, you get one seal, which you have to add to the Journal. Once you collect at least 9 seals in your Journal, go to Khloe Aliapoh and give them to her. In exchange for seals, she will reward you with valuable items and in-game currency.
Keep in mind that you receive special rewards for each additional line you complete. Whether the line is horizontal or vertical will not affect the type and value of the reward you get. Make sure you hand in the Journal for being rewarded before the deadline expires. You have two weeks to deliver the Journal to Aliapoh. Otherwise, you will be denied the gifts.
Rewards
For 9 seals, you receive a basic set of rewards that contains XP equivalent of 50% of a level. Then, you get the chance to choose one of three items. Allagan Platinum Piece is a rare coin that you can exchange for 10,000 gil. A great choice if you are running out of in-game money. Also, you can go for 500 Allagan Tomestone of Poetics, which allows you to purchase unique crafting equipment, minions, and other precious gear. The third option is the Zonureskin Treasure Map, which shows you a hidden treasure in Norvrandt.
You also get gifts for the additional rows you complete. For example, one extra line grants you one MGP Gold Card, which contains 30,000 MGP, which you can spend on glamours, mounts, and other goodies in Gold Saucer. For two completed lines, you receive two MGP Platinum Cards. A platinum card provides 50,000 MGP. Three additional rows completed in the Journal entitle you to 20 platinum cards, making you a millionaire in MGP and allowing you to buy everything you want with this currency.
Second Chance
When you complete duty with a party with one or more new players, you are granted Second Chance points. You can earn up to 9 points in a journal, which you can use to your benefit. Remember that you get only one SC point for completing an objective no matter how many new players have been in your party. Speaking of the SC points used, you get access to two actions – Retry and Shuffle.
Retry feature costs one point, and it allows you to change the status of an already completed objective, making it incomplete. With that, you can accomplish this duty once again and earn additional rewards. Shuffle action is granted in exchange for two points. The shuffle can be made only when there are three to seven seals in the Journal. It allows you to change the position of seals in a beneficial way to raise your chance of completing as many rows as possible. Second Chance is a really helpful tool that allows you to win many rewards with little effort. This little trick will help you increase the number of rewards you get from playing Wondrous Tails.
Bottom line
Wondrous Tails is all about earning great rewards while having fun. Get the Journal and complete objectives to receive seals, which you can exchange for rewards. Nine seals are enough to be granted some valuable items. If you decide to go the extra mile and complete some additional lines, rewards will increase. Make sure you have reached level 60 to be able to join Wondrous Tails.
