In this tutorial, we will be unlocking the Chocobo mount (post changes) in FFXIV. Thanks to Square Enix, they made this a lot easier than it was before. Initially, you needed to get 2000 grand company seals to obtain your Chocobo mount issuance. However, the need has since been reduced to two hundred. They will automatically award you Grand company seals as a result of your participation in the main quest.
After you have completed the main quest and killed Ifrit, you will be able to unlock your mounts. This will take place after you have completed your first trial. You must choose a Grand company from among the Limsa Lominsa, Gridania, or Ul’dah grand companies to join.
Let’s say you select The Immortal Flames from Ul’dah. Click on the NPC next to the front desk, which has a little symbol above his head to interact with him (plus sign exclamation point). He will have a quest named “My Little Chocobo”.
You want to accept this right after you join your grand company. This requires you to get your issuance from the grand company quartermaster under the material, and you will see Flame Chocobo Issuance needs 200 grand company seals.
Complete the lvl 20 main story quest for “Coin and Country”, and you will be rewarded with 300 grand company seals simply for doing so.
It is also possible to get grand company seals by fulfilling a couple of fates outside the city or by making and collecting turn-ins under the supply tab; if you have craftsmen and gatherers, any of these methods will work for you.
If you’re doing the quest. Go to the Waking Sands, complete the quest, and return to your grand company to proceed with the main story quest. In Vesper Bay, we go inside the Waking Sands. Go to the door and talk to the doorman and complete the quest. And there you go! You got your 300 grand company seals for your Chocobo.
Return to Hall of Flames Grand company, and now your gonna go get your issuance and your Chocobo. Speak to the grand company quartermaster under the material, get your issuance.
Depending on where you are, go to the Chocobo stable and talk to Mimigun(Chocobo Keep). Check the map, and you’ll find it. Hand over the Chocobo Issuance.
Let’s skip the cutscene and speak to your Chocobo and give him a name. Talk to the Chocobo keep again and get your whistle. That’s how you unlock your Chocobo mount! Now use your Chocobo whistle, and you can summon your Chocobo mount and any other mount you have available.
