Introduction
Castrum Marinum is a level 80 dungeon in Final Fantasy 14 Shadowbringers included in Patch 5.4. For this quest, you need to have an item level 470 and unlock it by accepting it Blood of the emerald through the NPC resistance officer in Porta Pretoria in The Lochs. To get to Terncliff, you need to turn 180 degrees and walk to meet the NPC resistance escort that will take you to Terncliff. This dungeon has 2 phases.
Phase 1
- Emerald shot – A primary tank buster that targets the tank. Heal and cool down as necessary.
- Emerald beam – This is a rotating attack from the front and back of the boss that rotates. At the same time, the boss will also summon a ring that rotates together. Avoid both of them and moving around alot here is neccessary.
- Magitek magnetism – Several mines will spawn in an AOE circle which will explode after some time. Two of the mine will be tethered together with a similar magnet and pushed apart before exploding. Players need to identify the correct mine that will explode and stand in a safe zone.
- Optimized ultima – High raid-wide damage to all the party members. Heal and shield as necessary.
- Split – The lower half of the boss disappears, and the boss will blast an AOE attack that will push back the players. Position yourself accordingly to avoid falling off the edge.
- Sidescathe – One side of the room will start to glow, indicating an AOE is coming. Players need to move away to the opposite side to avoid damage from the attack.
The Continuation
- Knockback – A blue circular AOE will appear on the platform, and the lower half of the boss will return and slam into this circle creating a knockback attack that will throw you off the edge. Move away from that circle or use knockback immunity to minimize the damage.
- Emerald beam – The outer edge of the platform will be destroyed, and players will have a lesser place to fight with.
- Donuts – Several hands will appear and start attacking. Move into the hitbox at the center to avoid the attack.
- Divide Et Impera – A high damage that attacks the primary tank. Heal and shield as necessary.
- Pulse laser- Random player will be targeted for the attack. Move away when you see these beams.
- Hand formation – Releases multiple orbs that will attack the players. Dodge this attack as necessary. All these mechanics will repeat until the next transition of the fight.
Phase 2
- Divide Et Impera – A tankbuster on the primary target added with AOE on the other players. Heal and move away as necessary.
- Primus terminus est – 3 Circle AOE and 3 blue lane knockback AOE will appear. Avoid getting into the blue lane and into the circle to avoid multiple damages. Players will be marked with blue arrows and they get knocked in that direction.
- Secundus terminus est – Random players will be marked with “x” or “+”. AOE will appear beneath them and have a wide range so players need to move to a safe spot to avoid damage.
- Tertius terminus est – Three sets of swords will drop and explode causing huge wide AOE damage. Run to a safe spot to avoid this damage.
- Legio phantasmatis – A black wolf will appear and will attack the tank. Then several soldiers will appear on the edge and start firing. One lane will be safe each round. Players need to find a safe spot for each line of soldiers to avoid damage. After 3 lines they will dissapear. All the mechanics will be repeated until the boss is destroyed.
