At that stage, end-game content begins. Your goal is to increase your item level required to complete more difficult challenges. The progression will take you from dungeons that you can complete alone to raids requiring 8- or 16 man parties. 

To reach that endgame gear, you will need to know how to upgrade your gear to save time and resources.

250 to 302 Item Level

You can get item level 302 gear from the first Chaos Dungeon. It unlocks if you have item level 250 and can drop level 302 rare or blue gear. However, the better way to obtain 302 gear is to head to the Shushire continent.

The Shushire continent unlocks once you complete North Bern. The time it takes to complete the Shushire story is about 3 hours. At the end of those 3 hours you get:

a complete 302 gear set

• 495 Small Armor Crystals
• 360 Small Weapon Crystals
• 35 Givena’s Emeralds
• 11.5k x Emerald Shards

302 to 340 Item Level

To reach item level 340, you need the following:

• 540 Small Armor Crystals
• 300 Small Weapon Crystals
• 3360 Emerald Shards
• 16 Givena’s Emeralds

Completing Shushire will award you most of the materials needed to upgrade your gear, but you will still need more. To get the remainder of the Armor and Weapon Crystals, you will need to do 4 runs of the Chaos Dungeons in North Bern. 

Because you do not have 340 yet, you will do 4 runs or two days of the first Tier of the Resonance Charm Chaos Dungeon. 

After that, you will have enough materials to upgrade your gear to 340. At 340, you unlock the next tier of the Chaos Dungeon that requires exactly 340 item level. 

Alternatively, you can do the Guardian Raids. With item level 302 you can unlock and solo the Urunil Guardian Raid.

340 to 460 Item Level

You will keep the gear that you got from Shushire until you reach item level 460. There is no need to replace it as you will keep upgrading it. You will need to continue running Chaos Dungeons in North Bern or Guardian Raids until you achieve 460.

460 to 600 Item Level

Once you reach item level 460, it will trigger an in-game event which will offer you a quest to start the Rohendel story. You complete the Rohendel story and you start the Chaos Dungeons there. 

The first tier of Chaos Dungeons will require item level 460. As you upgrade your gear, you unlock higher tiers of the Chaos Dungeon. You continue to do this until you upgrade the blue gear that you got from Shushire to +15. Once you reach +15 on your gear, you should have item level 600.

600 to 802 Item Level

Once you get to item level 600, head to Yorn. You will again start doing Chaos Dungeons. Like in North Bern and Rohendel, you will first have access to the dungeon’s first tier or the weakest version. However, you will no longer upgrade your original blue gear this time.

The Chaos Dungeons from Yorn will drop a new rare gear set but it will be item level 802. You will need to run the first dungeon tier until you get your entire gear replaced with the gear rewarded by the Chaos Dungeon in Yorn.

802 to 960 Item Level

From 802 to 960 item level, you will only spend time in Yorn. You will have to do your daily Chaos Dungeon runs until you have enough materials to upgrade your gear to item level 960. 

It will take a few days to get all the materials to upgrade your gear which is why you should not rely only on Chaos Dungeons. All the gear that you get should be dismantled to get more materials. You should complete the Guardian Raid dailies as well to get more materials.

960 to 1100 Item Level

To get to item level 1100, you need to farm in Payton. You will have to complete the Chaos Dungeon dailies and everything else that you can do to get as many materials as possible to upgrade your gear. 

Like you did in Yorn, you will keep your existing gear and upgrade it to item level 1100. Stop investing in your current gear once you get to item level 1100. You are still running with blue or rare gear that you got from Yorn.

1100 Item Level and Beyond

Once you reach item level 1100, you will need to move to Papunika Abyss Dungeons. Here, you will get a new gear set, which should be your main goal. This new gear set will be the one you will invest most of your resources. 

This is where most players claim that the game starts. North Bern, Rohendel, Yorn, and Payton are considered a tutorial. They are meant to introduce you to how your gear is upgraded and where you get the required materials.

Tips

Gear should never be sold 

When you get new and better gear, you should always dismantle it. If you dismantle the gear, you will get upgrade materials considered more valuable. If you choose to sell it to vendors, you will get just some silver coins that have little value.

Upgrading Gear

To upgrade your gear, you will need to go to the Quality Upgrade NPC which can be found in most cities. In Bern Castle, Marcia is the vendor you will be looking for.

Do not get attached to your gear in the early stages. You will be investing a lot into upgrading your gear but you will replace it eventually. As the developers of Lost Ark add more endgame content, you will keep on replacing your gear. Even the gear you will get from Papunika will be replaced at some point.

Guardian Raids

Do not neglect Guardian Raids. They are a useful source of materials and you should complete them every day along with your Chaos Dungeon runs.

Chaos Dungeons

Always move to the next Chaos Dungeon tier. All Chaos Dungeon tiers in an area offer the same rewards. Their difficulty increases with each tier but you get more rewards. You get the same item level gear drops but more shards and crystals which means that the higher the dungeon tier you do, the faster you will upgrade your gear.

Berserker is a warrior-type class who uses a massive sword weapon to damage his foes. 

Most of the blows come from swinging, exploding, and damaging his swords. When you are constantly attacking the enemy, you will be filling up your anger gauge. You will get angrier the longer the fight goes on. 

Once you fill-up the gauge, you can activate it and go into berserk mode. Once you activate it, you will get a 20% attack speed, movement speed, and a 30% critical strike chance. The berserk is a super mode, and once it is finished, it will have a 30-second cool down before you can accumulate the gauge again.

Class engraving

The killer move engraving will give your berserk mode a nice buff, and you will deal an additional 50% critical damage and remove the 30-second cooldown window when you deplete the gauge so that you can immediately collect the anger gauge again.

The madness or mayhem mode makes sure the anger bar is always full, and you are always angry.

This mode increases your damage by 18%, movement and attack speed by 15%, and reduces the damage taken by 65%. Your maximum HP, however, is reduced by 75%. You will become permanently enraged for a maximum damage boost, but at the same time, you will become much squishier and prone to dying. In short, you hit harder but with high chances of dying faster.

Stats and Engraving

When you are in madness, focus on crit and create maximum crit as you move on. Secondly, focus on agility to have better movement and attack speed. The list below shows the engraving you will need to make your berserker a better class.

• Madness – our main engraving
• Grudge – better damage
• Sharp blunt – better crit rate
• Master’s potential – Increases your damage output by 16% when you are below 50% of your health.
• Blitz commander – gives better stats.
• Cursed doll – gives better stats.
• Adrenaline – gives better speed.

Skills

• Shoulder charge – A simple mobility tool that allows you to move far and dodge the incoming attack or reposition yourself.
• Strike wave is a double charge attack that does damage in front of the berserker for multiple hits.
• Tempest slash is a combo move that makes the berserker fly into the air while swinging his sword to cause damage.
• Execution – This is another common move where the berserker first deal damage by swinging his sword then hits the ground doing massive damage.
• Red dust – This is a utility skill where the berserker throws a red line or dust at the target and makes it vulnerable to increased damage by you for a short period and you also increase your critical strike chance by 20% for 6 seconds.
• Chain sword – This is a utility skill that allows you to counter your opponent and it is vital to always bring this skill into raids to counter the enemies. This skill also increases your attack speed
• Sword storm – the berserker will make a small jump and hit the ground to make small frontal cone damage while at the same time, putting a burn effect in the target.
• Hell blade – This is one of the most powerful skills where the berserker jumps forward and slams his sword on the ground and holding it there and upon release dealing massive damage around him.
• Chain of vengeance – This is the ultimate which is used for remobbing or if you are afraid of missing the other awakening
• Charge – Deals more damage to a single target but has a charge time.
• Identity skill – Makes the sword swing in a frontal cone to deal damage.

Playstyle

This is based solely on the madness engraving. With this engraving, the berserker becomes a very fast-paced moving class. You also have no real downtime which gives you the ability to inflict maximum damage but at the same time, you need to wait for your cooldowns which are pretty long. 

For this, you can use red dust and start smashing your opponent with various sword attack that is enhanced. But beware of the opponent’s potential window and use all the skills to burst out. Every single sword hit is unique and strong, especially the Hell blade skill.

Tier 1 Progression

Awakening Quest 

The Tier 1 Progression starts by completing the first Awakening quest. Once you reach level 50, you want to progress with the main story until you unlock Chaos Dungeon, Guardian Raids, and Una’s Tasks dailies.

Dailies

With these dailies unlocked, you need to press F2 and play Song of Trixion. You will be Teleported to Trixion to meet an NPC called Beatrice. She will offer you the first Awakening quest. It will take you around 15 minutes to complete the quest. Once completed you will have the Awakening skill unlocked and your level 50 skill.

Builds

The next step is to make two builds. You need to have a build centered around one AOE skill for Chaos Dungeons and a build for single target DPS for Guardian Raids. You will get your 302 item level set from the Chaos Dungeons and Guardian Raids in North Bern. The alternative is to get to Shushire and complete the main story quests there. They will award you the same gear. You will complete the Shushire questline in around 2 hours.

Farm Dungeons and Raids

To move forward with your progression, you will need to farm materials from Chaos Dungeons and Guardian Raids. Those materials will be used to upgrade your gear to item level 460.

Once you reach that point, head to Rohendel. You will also unlock a higher tier of content in Void Dungeons and Guardian Raids. While you can only complete Chaos Dungeons twice per day, you can keep grinding them for Cataclysm Crystals, which you can again exchange for materials to upgrade your gear.

Guardian raids

If you want to complete Guardian Raids to get more rewards and materials, make sure you have the Harvest guardian soul box ticket. This will unlock the first clear rewards, which means you get a Guardian Storm Chest that can contain powerful loot.

Una’s Tasks

For Una’s Tasks, you want to complete those daily quests that award the most Harmony Leap Stones. You can do 3 quests per day. Make sure you focus on farming Harmony Leap Stones and this applies to weekly quests and weekly PvP quests.

2nd Awakening Quest

As you sort out your daily quest routine, dungeon runs, and raid runs, you should use your spare time to complete the 2nd Awakening quest. You can pick this quest up in Rohendel in Queen’s Garden from the NPC next to the mailbox.

Your daily routine of completing 2 Chaos Dungeons, 2 Guardian Raids, and 3 Una’s Tasks should continue until your reach item level 600. At that stage, you will reach the Tier 2 of progression.

Tier 2 Progression

Main Story

When you unlock the Yorn continent, you have reached Tier 2. Once you get to Yorn, you will need to complete the main story quest here. If you do not complete the main story quest, you will not have the daily and weekly content unlocked. Without it, you will not be able to progress with your gear.

Chaos/Void Dungeons, Dailies and Guardian Raids

After completing the story, you will need to complete two Chaos Dungeon runs in Yorn. The two runs will award you a complete gear set with an item level of 802. With your new gear, you will start your daily routine again. 

Your daily Chaos Dungeon runs, Void Dungeon runs, Guardian Raids, Una’s Tasks dailies will be the main source of upgrade materials. Farm as many materials as you can to upgrade your gear. Remember not to waste your dailies on low-tier Chaos Dungeons and Guardian Raids. You get more rewards by doing just the highest tier of dailies unlocked for your item level.

Abyss Dungeons

The dailies you can do here are of a higher tier than the ones in Yorn. At item level 960, you will need to travel to Payton. Again you will have to complete the main story quest here to unlock your dailies. When you complete the Payton questline, you will also unlock 3 new Abyss Dungeons that you want to complete each week.

Alternatively, instead of upgrading your 802 sets, you can use the materials from Abyss Dungeons to craft higher-tier gear. This can be very time-consuming and not very rewarding. The best way to progress is to upgrade your 802 item level gear to item level 1100.

At item level 1100, you need to travel to Papunika.

Tier 3 Progression

Chaos Dungeons, Void Dungeons and Guardian Raids

Once in Papunika, you can expect more of the same thing. You will need to complete the main story questline to unlock the Chaos Dungeons and Guardian Raids here. You will get your next gear set from your first Chaos Dungeon run here. You will now have a full set of item level 1302. After you get your purple set though, you can start with Abyss Raids

Papunika Abyss Raids

With your purple set equipped, you will need to farm materials to upgrade it until you unlock Papunika Abyss Raids. You will be stuck with this purple set for a while. Until new content is released, this purple set is the highest tier you can get. All your farmed materials should be invested in this set. Your goal should be item level 1415 which is +18. With such a high item level, you should run any Dungeon or Raid in a hard mode that grants you the best awards possible.

Remember to replace your Tier 2 gems with Tier 3 gems. Tier 2 gems are 50% less effective when paired with Tier 3 gear and accessories.

Purple Set

The first 1302 item set that you get from the Chaos Dungeon is blue or rare. You will need to upgrade it to +6 to get your item level to 1325. At item level 1325 you will unlock the next Chaos Dungeon tier. From this Chaos Dungeon, you will get the Purple 1302 item set with better stats than the blue one.

When You Start Playing Lost Ark, here are the top 24 things to do:

1. Get your second and third Job as quickly as possible (1st and 2nd because they are free).
2. Join a guild ASAP and do the daily quests; it will help you level up much faster.
3. Try to get a party ASAP when you are leveling up. This will also help you to level up much faster and it’s more fun.
4. Always keep your skill points until you are sure what skill build you want to go with; this will help you make informed decisions.
5. Don’t be overconfident, and you can play solo, but it is easier and faster with a party.
6. Save your silver for upgrading your gear.
7. Never waste game money on unnecessary things, like pets and costumes (use the TP shop).
8. Please keep all your gold for rare items; they will help you progress faster in the game.
9. Don’t be a one-trick pony; try to learn another character class, and you’ll benefit from it.
10. Don’t spend TP (Teleport Points) on PVP, as you can use them only once every 24 hours, and you’ll get TP from daily quests and boxes.
11. If you are under-geared or under-leveled for your zone, go to another appropriate zone for your level.
12. Don’t be a gear-whore, as your skills are more important than your gear.
13. Farming is easier with a party.
14. Always play the game on the highest difficulty you can handle; it is worth it.
15. Always make sure you are not wasting your AP (Ability Points)
16. If possible, always be guided to share the XP bonus and the silver you get from guild quests.
17. Join a party when doing dungeons; it is easier and faster this way.
18. The most efficient way to level up a character is through the story quests, do them ASAP, and you’ll be surprised how fast your character progresses.
19. Always do your story quests; they are the most efficient way to level up in Lost Ark.
20. The world quests are harder than the story quests, but they give more XP and silver.
21. If you are not in a guild yet, join one fast to get daily quests and an XP bonus.
22. To do world quests, you need to be at least level 45.
23. If you want to get the best out of your character, check the Class Guide on the left to find the best class for you.
24. Always check your best set of equipment; it will save you a lot of time.

The only challenge is that some settings are not very intuitive when you look into the menu, and it may become confusing as what some things do. 

To keep things simple, there are a few essential settings that you need to be aware of and how you should set them.

Force 21:9 Aspect Ratio

You will find this setting in the video settings menu. It forces the game to run in a 21:9 aspect ratio. If you have a normal monitor, this will cause black bars to appear at the top and bottom.

The direct effect is an increased field of view. You will immediately notice this effect in the menu when you activate it, as you will see more details on the sides of the screen. Using a 21:9 aspect ratio does not help much for PvE, but if you are a PvP player, you will benefit from seeing more around your character.

I only use this for PvP and not for PvE.

Screen Effects Settings

Lost Ark is very well optimized. You will not notice a considerable difference if you switch texture quality between very high and medium. If you have frequent framerate drops, you can tweak these settings to improve your FPS.

Audio – Cooldown Alert

This setting can be found in the Audio settings tab right above Voice Char Options. You will hear a sound whenever an ability goes off cooldown if you enable it. You cannot set the alert to trigger for particular abilities. It triggers all of them. This can be useful and annoying at the same time.

There is only one sound effect, and you cannot change it. If you have extremely low cooldowns, the sound can become annoying. However, you can have this enabled if you play a character with reasonably long cooldowns and do not use too many abilities.

Voice Chat

Right beneath the Cooldown Alert, you will find Voice Chat options. By default, you will have the Auto-Join Voice Chat enabled. You should turn it off as you do not want to automatically join a voice chat. Also, you can use the Push to Talk feature since it is much more useful than having your microphone input always on so that the party hears everything you say.

Mouse Cursor Style

You can alternate between different mouse cursors by pressing down CTRL and scrolling your mouse wheel. If you want your mouse cursor to be bigger, you can do so by going to Settings, and in the Visual perception tab, look for Mouse Cursor Size.

Chat Box Colors

The Chat Box that you see in the corner of the screen can have customized text colors for different chat types. You can set different colors than the default ones for Errors, Warnings, Whispers, Guild chat, Party chat, etc. While they are fine in the default settings, you can alter them to make certain messages more visible. To do so, you need to go to settings and in the Community tab, look for the Text sub-menu.

Macros

In Lost Ark, macros are not what you think. You can find them in the Community tab in your settings menu. They allow you to have predefined messages that can be sent to different chat groups. In a party chat, you can set something like “I have applied X debuff to the boss” and bind that phrase to a particular key. To assign keys to macros, you will need to go to the Hotkey tab and scroll down to the Macros sub-menu.

Events tab

The events tab refers to trade requests, duel requests, party invites, or guild invites. You will find that in Lost Ark, everyone wants to duel you. This can be annoying. If you want to no longer be spammed by some of these requests, just go to the Community tab, Event sub-menu, and tick all the boxes for the events you want to reject automatically.

Gameplay Settings

This is the most important section in which you will tweak how the game plays. You will find this extensive menu in the Gameplay tab under the Show sub-menu. You should start with the below settings customizations: 

– Show Damage. You will want to leave Show Damage, especially if you play a DPS class.

– Show Recovery. Show Recovery means that it will show healing numbers if you leave it on. These numbers add no value and make your screen more cluttered when in raids or parties. Untick this box.

– Effects. This should be left on. It shows a text on the screen when someone receives a buff or debuff. It also applies to bosses and mobs in Lost Ark. In raids, in particular, it is important to be aware of what is happening to your character. Otherwise, you can get into situations where you will wipe an entire raid because you did not notice a debuff on your character.

– Player. Having this box ticked will show your HP right above your character. This makes it easier to focus on fights than to look at the bottom of the screen.

– Party and Raid. Having this checked will show the HP bars of the player in your party. If you are in a raid, it will only show the HP bars of your party members and not the entire raid. Leave this on since, during a raid, you can only heal or buff your party members.

– Over raid members. As mentioned previously, you only buff and heal your party members. Leave this setting unchecked since it adds no value and confuses fights.

– Hostile target. You will want to have this on as it will show the HP of a boss right above it.

– Summons. Seeing the HP bar of a summoned critter adds no value and makes the visuals messier. Uncheck this setting.

– Guild Members. You can have this on when not in raids, but raids, you should have it off.

 Show battle and pet section

– Combat Effects. Leaving it set “All” can make the game very messy in terms of effects, especially when in raids. You might want to leave it Party only or Opponents (mobs and bosses).

– Apply Battle Outline. It makes your character glow and has a white outline when behind objects. During fights or in large raids, it is much easier to see your character. You need to leave this checked.

– Marking Skills. This does not add much value, just more confusion. You should have it off but feel free to try playing Lost Ark with this setting enabled.

Interface settings 

 For the interface settings, the default settings are fine the way they are. There are only a couple of tweaks that you may want to do.

– Display Low HP. You should have this box ticked off. If you leave it on, you start hearing a heartbeat and the edges of the screen become red. This is anything but helpful, especially during chaotic encounters.

– Show Tutorial. You should uncheck this if you are familiar with the game.

Combat Settings

You only need to play around with a few settings found here for combat settings.

– Auto Move. If you want convenience, use the Mouse option. Using the Keyboard option will allow you to do other things while moving, such as using your inventory.

– Camera shake effect. This can be very distracting. Turn it off if you enjoy a cleaner gameplay experience.

Conclusion

There are plenty more settings you can play around with within Lost Ark. Everything else that was not mentioned above is self-explanatory. You should look at the Hotkey section to understand the default hotkeys or customize them.

Forget Meta Classes

In the MMORPG world, people have multiple characters and have what some would call a flavor of the month. You see players starting to level up and get gear on a new character because they think it is overpowered or someone told them a particular class is dominating in certain circumstances in Lost Ark.

Following trends and what others may tell you is overpowered is one of the first mistakes most beginner players make. While it is true that for PvP, classes such as Paladin, Gunlancer, and Berserker subclasses dominate, things may be different for PvE. 

Regardless, this should not matter to you. When you create a new character, think about what gameplay you like. Do you like ranged casters, tanks, melee damage dealers, or support classes? 

Pick one class that fits with your play style and stick with it. It is much better to be very good with a class you like than to be very bad with a class you think is overpowered.

Don’t Invest Resources in the Wrong Engravings and Stats

Each class benefits from certain stats but each class is different. You need to know what stats benefit your class of choice the most. The same goes for Engravings. A common mistake is to get gear and upgrades that look beneficial at first but in reality, they do not help much. 

You should be aware of what your class needs to excel and under no circumstance should you make choices based on guesses. Lost Ark is very unforgiving. It takes a very long time to build a character. Upgrading gear is even more tedious. 

Spending that time chasing the wrong stats or a wrong build for your class. Many players even quit the game after realizing that they made this mistake and simply refuse to build their character.

Don’t Limit Your Progress With Just One Character

Most players will be tempted to invest their time into just one character. This is a common mistake. Lost Ark is not like most other MMORPGs. You benefit much more by having alts. Progression is much faster and smoother if you have several characters. Not all of them will be equal but the alts will indeed help your main character and your account as a whole. As most Lost Ark players like to think, you need to think of it as account-wide and avoid limiting it to a single character when you think about progression.

Don’t Listen to What Others Think Is Right

Lost Ark is not a competitive game. There is no incentive to be the best on a server or region. It is a game that was made to be fun. You should also play it for fun. Do your research and do not do certain things in Lost Ark just because someone else tells you to. Always make decisions regarding your character and progression based on your judgments. 

You need to choose what you want to do in Lost Ark but always understand what you are doing and how it benefits your character. 

Look for resources online, guides, and understand what benefits your class and character to continue your progression. What others may try to enforce upon you may not apply to your playstyle.

Lost Ark Is Not Pay 2 Win 

Many players have the false misconception that Lost Ark is a Pay-to-Win type of game. This discourages them from playing the game because they think that paying players can gain access to things that they don’t. 

That is not true. A part of the game allows players to pay for convenience. What this means is that you can buy time with real money. If it would take you 30 minutes to grind for a certain material to upgrade some gear, some players may choose to pay to save that 30 minutes and get the materials faster. 

This enables some players that may not have the luxury of playing the game for several hours each day to enjoy end-game content.

Don’t Sell Items for What You Think They Are Worth

Most MMORPGs have a trading system in the game that allows you to sell items. Avoid selling items directly to other players. You will inevitably sell something for less than what is worth or you may try to sell something completely worthless for a very high price. Use the Auction House in Lost Ark to reference what something is worth and sell it around that price. Better yet, use the Auction House to sell stuff that you do not need.

Item Level Is Not the Most Important Stat in the Game

The Item Level of your character determines what content you can access but it is not the most important stat in the game. Many new players are fooled into thinking this because most guides talk about progression in Lost Ark.

The most important stat you need to look at in Lost Ark is the Engravings system. That is where you want to invest all your resources. They make the biggest impact on your character. Good player groups for endgame content will look at your engravings first and Item Level second. Make sure you take all opportunities to upgrade your Engravings whenever possible.

Bonus Tip

Make sure you always look for resources that go into details regarding your class. You can find stat calculators, gear upgrade calculators, and progression guides. Use those resources to understand how you should play your character because characters in Lost Ark were made to be played in a certain way. Playing a DPS Paladin is possible but you will be a bad DPS. To make the most out of your class, understand what it is meant to do, what stats it needs, how it scales with certain items and gear, and how you should progress through the content.

Everyone will be substantial for you to dominate the PVE, but if you want to know more about what class you should utilize, let us delve into classes’ ability and the advanced classes. Currently, there are five classes in Lost Ark, which includes Warrior, Gunner, Martial Artist, Mage, and Assassin. Both have their skillset and ways to buff a team on PVE.

Don’t stress yourself for being the best player instantly, and this tier list is only here to guide you when you start the game. Enjoy the game, have fun, and be the best Lost Ark player you can be. Now let’s go through each class and the subclasses for each.

Warrior

A Warrior goes into the battle head-on because the playstyle of a warrior is melee, and this is the typical melee playstyle that you can find in most games. However, they are not the best if you want mobility, for they are the best as tanks.

Berserker

Berserkers are powerful and tanked with their greatsword. They deal high damage with their weapon, but they become unstoppable when you use their burst. When a Berserker is at its best, it gains an additional attack speed that you can unlock.

Gunlancer

Gunlancers are usually used for solid defense because they can take a lot of damage from the enemies. This is because Gunlancers have a strong defensive stance, making them reliable to make the whole party safe.

Paladin

Paladins can be a buffer and a shielder at the same time. Not only for themselves but also the party members as well.

Assassin

They are the same as Warrior in their playstyle since they are also a melee class. However, they use the dark force to eliminate and defeat the enemies, and the dark force is absorbed in their swords.

Shadowhunter

When Shadowhunter defeats the enemy, she becomes a demonic creature that can give health and movement speed for her (until the skill lasts). Shadowhunter is fast, so you can easily create combos with her that can quickly slash through the enemies.

Deathblade

Deathblade kills with style with her three swords. These three words are best when you are playing offensive mode because you can quickly attack enemies when you attack at their backs. Attacking sneakily is where Deathblade shines because she strikes fast. However, her playstyle can be hard to master.

Mage

Like almost all MMORPG, Mages are for range attacks. They use magic and spell as their powers to attack. They can be a damage dealer or a healer for your party.

Sorceress

Sorceress is a powerful mage that holds three elements, and she can use these three elements to deal AoE burst damage or AoE continuous damage over time. One of her best skills is her icy and cold attacks which slow the enemy down, making them viable for good combo line ups.

Bard

Even if they don’t move fast, their healing, defense, and shield capability can give a massive change to your team. Along with her strong defense is her ability to provide buffs.

Martial Artist

They are also a melee class, but they use their fists as their weapon. They fight head-on, and they move around the battlefield a lot, making their attack faster.

Wardancer

Wardancers combine their combat capability with their elemental power. They can store their elemental power and unleash one decisive blow with their swift skills. They move quickly as well, but they also rely on quick skills.

Scrapper

If you choose Scrapper, you have to keep in mind that they depend on two forms of attack, opposing each other. You have to keep them balanced to make a successful attack when using her.

Soulfist

Even if a Martial Artist is a melee class, Soulfist can also use ranged attacks. Since you can change her attack style, you can create powerful combos, along with their energy called Adamance. Adamance can sustain her through tough fights.

Striker

Aside from its fast attacks, Strikers are best known to have aerial attacks which can make a powerful plunge attack combo. They are viable, especially for close combats.

Gunner

Using a gun or a bow, they can take down enemies at range. If you don’t like close combats, they are up at your ally because they shine on ranged playstyle.

Artillerist

Artillerists do not move fast, but they can shoot a large group of enemies with their weapons. As she hits, the enemies will launch in the air, which can cause them to scatter.

Deadeye

Deadeye tailors her weapon in different situations using three weapons, making them a versatile and flexible addition for your party.

Sharpshooter

When you use Sharpshooter, make sure you are as far from the enemies because you can utilize his damage at a distance. And when the powerful attack hits the enemies, you can knock them in the air.

Gunslinger

Gunslingers are fast when they move on the battlefield, and they have different weapons they switch when they fight. She handles three types of guns, and the damage varies per gun, making her viable for strong attack damage.

One of the rewards for clearing this difficult, challenging content is mounts dropped from the enemies slain in the trials. However, the drop chance for these mounts is quite low, so players should expect to make multiple clears before getting their hands on these unique mounts.

However, there is another option if the mount fails to drop even after many clears. Extreme trial enemies drop 1 totem or token unique to that trial every time they are cleared. 99 of each token type can be exchanged for the mount that drops from that specific extreme trial.

Each expansion in Final Fantasy XIV brings new extreme trials with new mount rewards. Players are free to return to older content and grind out the mounts from previous trials so long as they meet the requirements for that extreme trial.

Heavensward

Final Fantasy XIV’s Heavenward expansion brings 7 extreme trials to the game. These extreme trials can be unlocked at level 60 once the main scenario quest A Litany of Peace has been completed, and players must complete further quests to open these trials. 

Two quest-givers can help unlock these trials: Alys in Mor Dhona and Unukalhai at The Rising Stones. Heavensward is an expansion with the most complex unlock requirements, with multi-step quests featuring often. The good news is that these sorts of multi-step unlock quests are largely done away with in later expansions, so the unlock process will be much faster in all expansions past Heavensward.

Dark Lanner

This legendary bird has a chance of dropping from Nidhogg in the trial The Minstrel’s Ballad: Nidhogg’s Rage. Alternatively, it can be purchased from Bertana for 99 Horde totems. Players need to speak with Alys and accept their quest, Nidhogg’s Rage to access this trial. This sends the player to speak with the Wandering Minstrel, who unlocks the extreme trial.

Demonic Lanner

The Demonic Lanner has a chance to drop from Zurvan in the Containment Bay Z1T9 trial, or it can be bought from Bertana for 99 Demon Totems. To unlock this extreme trial, players will need to speak with Unukalhai and take a Demonic Duplicate quest. This will send you on a journey to take a tomestone to the Flagship. This will unlock the extreme trial.

Rose Lanner

This mount has a chance to drop from Ravana in Thok ast Thok. If players are unlucky with drops, it can also be purchased with 99 Hive Totems from Bertana. Players will need to speak to Unkalhai and take Thok Around the Clock to unlock this trial. Unukalhai gives the players a gemstone and will send them to a Vath elder, who directs them to a sacred cave. Players can unlock the extreme trial by smashing the gemstone in this cave.

Round Lanner

The Round Lanner is a possible drop from King Thordan in The Minstrel’s Ballad trial: Thordran’s Reign. In can also be purchased from Bertana for 99 Heaven’s Ward Helm Fragments. To unlock this trial, speak with Alys in Mor Dhona and accept Thordan’s Reign quest. This will send players to speak with the Wandering Minstrel, who unlocks the extreme trial.

Sophic Lanner

The mount drops from Sophia, found in the Containment Bay P1T6 trial. Alternatively, it can be bought for 99 Goddess Totems from Bertana. This trial is unlocked by speaking to Unukalhai and taking a Deific Simulacrum quest. This requires players to present an Allagan tomestone of divinity to the verification node on the Flagship. This unlocks the extreme trial.

Warring Lanner

The Warring Lanner is dropped by Sephirot in Containment Bay P1T6 or bought from Bertana for 99 Fiend Totems. To unlock this trial, players must accept the quest A Fiendish Likeness from Unukalhai. Players will then present the Allagan tomestone of Theology to the verification node in the Flagship, which unlocks the extreme trial.

White Lanner

This mount has a chance of dropping from Bismarck in The Limitless Blue. If players are unlucky with the drop rate, it can also be purchased from Bertana for 99 Expanse Totems. Players can unlock the trial by speaking with Unukalhai and taking the Diabolical Bismarck quest. This requires players to attune the Weeping Eye of the Manakmanai with the aetheryte at the Whale’s Crown, which unlocks the extreme trial.

Firebird

This unique avian is earned by completing the short Fiery Wing, Fiery Hearts quest that becomes available after the player has collected all other Lanner mounts.

Stormblood

Final Fantasy XIV’s Stormblood expansion brings 8 extreme trials to the game. These extreme trials can be unlocked at level 80 once the main scenario quest has been completed. All of them are unlocked by completing the quest Songs in the Key of Kugane, which is accepted and completed by talking to the Wandering Minstrel in Kugane.

Trials drop 1 token per kill. 99 of these can be exchanged for the same mount that drops from the trial from Eschina in Rhalgr’s Reach.

Auspicious Kamuy

This mount is dropped by Byakko in The Jade Stoa or bought from Eschina for 99 Byakko Totems. To unlock this trial, complete the quest Songs in the Key of Kugane, which is both accepted and completed by talking to the Wandering Minstrel in Kugane.

Blissful Kamuy

This wolf-like mount has a chance of dropping from Lakshmi in the extreme trial Emanation. To unlock this trial, complete the quest Songs in the Key of Kugane, which is both accepted and completed by talking to the Wandering Minstrel in Kugane. Alternatively, it can be purchased from Eschina for 99 Bliss tokens.

Euphonious Kamuy

This Kamuy drops from Susazku in Hells’ Kier, or if players are unlucky with the drop, can be bought from eschina for 99 Suzaku Totems. To unlock this trial, complete the quest Songs in the Key of Kugane, which is both accepted and completed by talking to the Wandering Minstrel in Kugane.

Hallowed Kamuy

The Hallowed Kamuy has a chance of dropping from Seiryu in the Wreath of Snakes trial. To unlock this trial, complete the quest Songs in the Key of Kugane, which is both accepted and completed by talking to the Wandering Minstrel in Kugane. It can also be bought from Eschina for 99 Seiryu Totems.

Legendary Kamuy

This mount is dropped by Shinryu In The Minstrel’s Ballad: Shinryu’s Domain or purchased from Eschina for 99 Shinryu Totems. To unlock this trial, complete the quest Songs in the Key of Kugane, which is both accepted and completed by talking to the Wandering Minstrel in Kugane.

Lunar Kamuy

This Kamuy has a chance of dropping from Tsukuyomi in The Minstrel’s Ballad: Tsukuyomi’s Pain. Alternatively, it can be purchased from Eschina for 99 Lunar Totems. To unlock this trial, complete the quest Songs in the Key of Kugane, which is both accepted and completed by talking to the Wandering Minstrel in Kugane.

Reveling Kamuy

The Reveling Kamuy is dropped by Susano in The Pool of Tribute or bought from Eschina for 99 Revel Totems. To unlock this trial, complete the quest Songs in the Key of Kugane, which is both accepted and completed by talking to the Wandering Minstrel in Kugane.

Fabled Kamuy

This final Kamuy is earned by completing the quest A Lone Wold No More, available to players who have obtained all the other Kamuys. To unlock this trial, complete the quest Songs in the Key of Kugane, which is both accepted and completed by talking to the Wandering Minstrel in Kugane.

Rathalos

This draconic mount is a drop from The Great Hunt. It can also be bought from Smithy in Kugane for 50 Rathalos Scale+. The quest is accepted and completed by speaking with the questgiver, making this a quick unlock. This extreme trial is easy to unlock; all the player needs is speak with the Hearty Hunter in Kugane.

Shadowbringers

Shadowbringers has 8 extreme trials, although only 7 of them drop mounts. These extreme trials are unlocked by completing two quests from two different questgivers, Minstreling Wanderer at The Crystalarium and Warmachina Fanatic in the Lochs.

Diamond Gwiber

This Gwiber is dropped by The Diamond Weapon in the Cloud Deck extreme trial. Those who have been unlucky with the drop rate can also be purchased from C’intana for 99 Diamond Totems. This trial in unlocked by speaking to the Warmachina Fanatic at The Lochs.

Emerald Gwiber

The Emerald Gwiber drops from The Emerald Weapon in Castrum Marinum. Alternatively, it can be bought from C’intana for 99 Emerald Totems. This trial in unlocked by speaking to the Warmachina Fanatic at The Lochs.

Fae Gwiber

This mount has a chance of dropping from Titania in The Dancing Plague or can be bought from Fathard for 99 King Totems. This trial is unlocked by completing the Minstrel from Another Mother quest, accepted and completed by talking to the Minstreling Wander in The Crystalarium.

Shadow Gwiber

This mount can drop from The Minstrel’s Ballad: Hade’s Elegy or purchased from C’intana for 99 Totems. This trial is unlocked by completing the Minstrel from Another Mother quest, accepted and completed by talking to the Minstreling Wander in The Crystalarium.

Gwiber of Light

The Gwiber of Light can drop from The Seat of Sacrifice. Alternatively, it can be purchased for 99 Totems from Fathard. This trial is unlocked by completing the Minstrel from Another Mother quest, accepted and completed by talking to the Minstreling Wander in The Crystalarium.

Ruby Gwiber

This Gwiber drops from The Ruby Weapon in Cinder Drift. It can also be bought from C’intana for 99 Ruby Totems. This trial in unlocked by speaking to the Warmachina Fanatic at The Lochs.

Innocent Gwiber

This Gwiber drops from Innocence in The Crown of the Immaculate or purchased 99 Immaculate Totems from Fathard. This trial is unlocked by completing the Minstrel from Another Mother quest, accepted and completed by talking to the Minstreling Wander in The Crystalarium.

Landerwaffe

After players have collected all the above Gwiber mounts, the quest, The Dragon Made, becomes available to them. Completing it will earn them the Landerwaffe mount.

Endwalker

Endwalker currently only has two Extreme trial mounts for players to earn, becoming unlockable at level 90. Trials drop 1 token per kill. 99 of these can be exchanged for the same mount that drops from the trial from Nesvaaz in Radz-at-Han.

Lynx of Divine Light

This cat-like mount is dropped by Hydaelyn from the trial The Minstrel’s Ballad: Hydaelyn’s Call. This trial is unlocked by completing the I Wandered Sharlayan as a Minstrel quest, accepted and completed by speaking to the Wandering Minstrel in Old Sharlayan. If players are unlucky with the drop chance, this mount can also be bought for 99 Astral Totems from Nesvaaz.

Lynx of Eternal Darkness

The Lynx of Eternal Darkness has a chance of dropping from Zodiark in the trial The Minstrel’s Ballad: Zodiark’s Fall or can be bought from Nesvaaz for 99 Umbral Totems. This trial is unlocked by completing the I Wandered Sharlayan as a Minstrel quest, accepted and completed by speaking to the Wandering Minstrel in Old Sharlayan.

While there are currently only two extreme trial mounts in Endwalker, both are worth picking up, and there will likely be more in the future!

These extreme trial mounts will take a good bit of grinding to get. The drop chances for all of them are quite low, and all players in the party will be allowed to roll for them if they do drop. In addition, it can take up to 15 hours to collect 99 totems to buy the mounts instead of waiting for them to drop! However, if players wish to, they can choose not to sync and run older extreme trials solo, meaning that if the mount drops, it is theirs to claim.

However, this isn’t an option for the two new extreme trial mounts found in Endwalker. Getting ahold of these two cat-like steeds will be quite the achievement, considering they are current content!

Dead Ends is a level 90 dungeon in the Final Fantasy 14 Endwalker. In this mission, you will be tasked to overcome the enemies of the dying world. To unlock the Dean Ends, you need to accept Endwalker’s main scenario quest from NPC Alphinaud in Ultima Thule. The dungeon is full of toxic puddles en route to the bosses, so avoid them at all cost.

Caustic Grebuloff

• Miasmata – The wind will start blowing just right before the boss cast this mechanic. After that, a few orbs will start to spawn around the arena and will start to move in the direction of the wind. Move to a safe spot to avoid damage.

• Cough up – Sets of puddle AOE will spawn in the arena. Spread out to avoid overlapping damage.

• Craven companionship – All players will be marked and you need to group to avoid damage and lose character.
• Wave of nausea – A large AOE covering the area runs beneath the boss to avoid damage.

• Pox flail – A tank buster that is aimed at the primary tank target. Heal and cool down as necessary.

• Blighted water – Stack marker will be targeted at a random player. Group up to spread the damage among the players.

• Befoulment – AOE circle attack will be targeted at all players. spread out to avoid overlapping damage. All these mechanics will be repeated.

Peacekeeper

• Decimation – Raid-wide AOE damage which covers the edge. Move away from the edge to avoid damage.

• Electromagnetic repellant – A consistent AOE damage will be spawned beneath the boss. Move away to avoid damage

• Order to fire – Few bits will spawn around the boss and fire a straight line beam. At the same time, all players will be marked with a stack. So spread out to avoid overlapping damage.

• No future – AOE is created in a pattern around the arena. Spread out to avoid overlapping damage.

• Peace fire – AOE rotates around the arena and at the same time, electromagnetic repellant and order to fire will be cast. Move around and avoid these mechanics to minimize the damage.

• Eclipsing exhaust – AOE will be created around the arena and players will be knocked back from the center. Position yourself from the AOE to avoid damage.

• Elimination – A tank buster is aimed at the primary tank target. Heal and cool down as necessary

Ra-La

• Warm glow – Raid-wide AOE to sell party members. The healer must be ready to heal as necessary.

• Pity – A tank buster that is aimed at the primary target. Heal and cooldown as necessary

• Prance – The boss will jump in a pattern and create an AOE circle. Players must follow the boss until the last AOE circle to avoid damage.

• Lifesbreath – The boss jumps to the edge and cast a line AOE and at the same time butterflies will appear. Stand behind the butterflies to avoid getting blasted. If a player did get hit, you will be inflicted with Doom. Heal to 100% and you will be free from the debuff.

• Benevolence – A stack marker will be placed on a random player. Group up to spread the damage among the party.

• Loving embrace – A wing will be lifted to cast these mechanics. Just move to the opposite side of the wing to avoid damage. Second-time loving embrace will combine with Lifesbreath so move out and jump accordingly to avoid damage.

• Still embrace – Target all players with AOE markers. Spread out to avoid overlapping damage. All these mechanics will be repeated until the boss is down.

Dohn Mheg is a level 73 dungeon in Final Fantasy 14 Shadowbringer. Your mission will be meeting Lightwarden in the land of fairies but before that, you need to get the key in Dohn Mheg. To unlock this dungeon, you need to accept the main scenario quest “The key to the quest” from NPC Sul Uin. Before meeting the first boss, we need to go through the mini-golf course and kill some small monsters and AOE damage.

Aerc Thon (Lord of the lingering gaze)

• Candy cane – Heavy-hitting tank buster. Cooldown and heal as necessary.

• Hydro fall – Boss will target the ground beneath the player with an AOE circle blast. Move away to avoid damage
• Laughing leap – The boss will target the ground with an AOE circle or with a stack-up market at any random player. If a player is marked, move together and spread the damage. If only an AOE circle then avoid that particular area.

• Landsblood – Few puddles will be formed in the area. The first phase is when the puddle appears and it is calm. In the second phase, the puddle of water begins to bubble, indicating it will burst. Avoid this bubble to minimize the damage and debuff. All of these mechanics will repeat until the boss is down.

Griaule

• Swinge – Massive frontal cone AOE attack. Move away to avoid damage.

• Fodder – The boss will go to the center and summons saplings that are connected to the boss with a tether. Intercept the tether and reverse the sapling power. This sapling will increase damage dealt and reduce the damage taken by the boss.

• Tiiimmberrrrr – Group-wide AOE blast. Heal as necessary. At the same time, the boss will try to eat the saplings to gain power, intercept the tether as much as you can to avoid the boss getting stronger.

• Coiling ivy – Target each player and trap them in a clump of roots. You can avoid this by using range AOE to hit them. All these mechanics will repeat until the boss is down.

Aenc Thon (Lord of the lengthsome gait)

• Crippling blow – Heavy hit tank buster. Cooldown and heal as necessary.
• Virtuosic Capriccio – Group-wide AOE damage with a bleed debuff. Healers be ready to heal.

• Imp choir – Gaze attack that you should avoid because it will turn you into an imp.
• Toad choir – The boss blasts a large frontal AOE towards a random player. Avoid this because it will turn you into a frog.

• Ponambulist’s fantasia – The boss jumps to the edge and cast this spell which will knock the players and create a big gap with a tight rope path.

• Finale – This cast should be stopped if not you will die. Without falling, you need to go through the tight rope path to continue attacking its lair and destroy it. Watch your step and do not fall and if you do fall, you will be sent back to the start of the arena.

• Changeling’s fantasia – Once the lair is destroyed, the boss jumps back to the middle, casts this, and turns to a shade of fear. Avoid frontal AOE attack and also avoid the tentacles. Then it will turn back to its normal form and all these mechanics will continue until the boss is down.
