One of the rewards for clearing this difficult, challenging content is mounts dropped from the enemies slain in the trials. However, the drop chance for these mounts is quite low, so players should expect to make multiple clears before getting their hands on these unique mounts.

However, there is another option if the mount fails to drop even after many clears. Extreme trial enemies drop 1 totem or token unique to that trial every time they are cleared. 99 of each token type can be exchanged for the mount that drops from that specific extreme trial.

Each expansion in Final Fantasy XIV brings new extreme trials with new mount rewards. Players are free to return to older content and grind out the mounts from previous trials so long as they meet the requirements for that extreme trial.

Heavensward

Final Fantasy XIV’s Heavenward expansion brings 7 extreme trials to the game. These extreme trials can be unlocked at level 60 once the main scenario quest A Litany of Peace has been completed, and players must complete further quests to open these trials. 

Two quest-givers can help unlock these trials: Alys in Mor Dhona and Unukalhai at The Rising Stones. Heavensward is an expansion with the most complex unlock requirements, with multi-step quests featuring often. The good news is that these sorts of multi-step unlock quests are largely done away with in later expansions, so the unlock process will be much faster in all expansions past Heavensward.

Dark Lanner

This legendary bird has a chance of dropping from Nidhogg in the trial The Minstrel’s Ballad: Nidhogg’s Rage. Alternatively, it can be purchased from Bertana for 99 Horde totems. Players need to speak with Alys and accept their quest, Nidhogg’s Rage to access this trial. This sends the player to speak with the Wandering Minstrel, who unlocks the extreme trial.

Demonic Lanner

The Demonic Lanner has a chance to drop from Zurvan in the Containment Bay Z1T9 trial, or it can be bought from Bertana for 99 Demon Totems. To unlock this extreme trial, players will need to speak with Unukalhai and take a Demonic Duplicate quest. This will send you on a journey to take a tomestone to the Flagship. This will unlock the extreme trial.

Rose Lanner

This mount has a chance to drop from Ravana in Thok ast Thok. If players are unlucky with drops, it can also be purchased with 99 Hive Totems from Bertana. Players will need to speak to Unkalhai and take Thok Around the Clock to unlock this trial. Unukalhai gives the players a gemstone and will send them to a Vath elder, who directs them to a sacred cave. Players can unlock the extreme trial by smashing the gemstone in this cave.

Round Lanner

The Round Lanner is a possible drop from King Thordan in The Minstrel’s Ballad trial: Thordran’s Reign. In can also be purchased from Bertana for 99 Heaven’s Ward Helm Fragments. To unlock this trial, speak with Alys in Mor Dhona and accept Thordan’s Reign quest. This will send players to speak with the Wandering Minstrel, who unlocks the extreme trial.

Sophic Lanner

The mount drops from Sophia, found in the Containment Bay P1T6 trial. Alternatively, it can be bought for 99 Goddess Totems from Bertana. This trial is unlocked by speaking to Unukalhai and taking a Deific Simulacrum quest. This requires players to present an Allagan tomestone of divinity to the verification node on the Flagship. This unlocks the extreme trial.

Warring Lanner

The Warring Lanner is dropped by Sephirot in Containment Bay P1T6 or bought from Bertana for 99 Fiend Totems. To unlock this trial, players must accept the quest A Fiendish Likeness from Unukalhai. Players will then present the Allagan tomestone of Theology to the verification node in the Flagship, which unlocks the extreme trial.

White Lanner

This mount has a chance of dropping from Bismarck in The Limitless Blue. If players are unlucky with the drop rate, it can also be purchased from Bertana for 99 Expanse Totems. Players can unlock the trial by speaking with Unukalhai and taking the Diabolical Bismarck quest. This requires players to attune the Weeping Eye of the Manakmanai with the aetheryte at the Whale’s Crown, which unlocks the extreme trial.

Firebird

This unique avian is earned by completing the short Fiery Wing, Fiery Hearts quest that becomes available after the player has collected all other Lanner mounts.

Stormblood

Final Fantasy XIV’s Stormblood expansion brings 8 extreme trials to the game. These extreme trials can be unlocked at level 80 once the main scenario quest has been completed. All of them are unlocked by completing the quest Songs in the Key of Kugane, which is accepted and completed by talking to the Wandering Minstrel in Kugane.

Trials drop 1 token per kill. 99 of these can be exchanged for the same mount that drops from the trial from Eschina in Rhalgr’s Reach.

Auspicious Kamuy

This mount is dropped by Byakko in The Jade Stoa or bought from Eschina for 99 Byakko Totems. To unlock this trial, complete the quest Songs in the Key of Kugane, which is both accepted and completed by talking to the Wandering Minstrel in Kugane.

Blissful Kamuy

This wolf-like mount has a chance of dropping from Lakshmi in the extreme trial Emanation. To unlock this trial, complete the quest Songs in the Key of Kugane, which is both accepted and completed by talking to the Wandering Minstrel in Kugane. Alternatively, it can be purchased from Eschina for 99 Bliss tokens.

Euphonious Kamuy

This Kamuy drops from Susazku in Hells’ Kier, or if players are unlucky with the drop, can be bought from eschina for 99 Suzaku Totems. To unlock this trial, complete the quest Songs in the Key of Kugane, which is both accepted and completed by talking to the Wandering Minstrel in Kugane.

Hallowed Kamuy

The Hallowed Kamuy has a chance of dropping from Seiryu in the Wreath of Snakes trial. To unlock this trial, complete the quest Songs in the Key of Kugane, which is both accepted and completed by talking to the Wandering Minstrel in Kugane. It can also be bought from Eschina for 99 Seiryu Totems.

Legendary Kamuy

This mount is dropped by Shinryu In The Minstrel’s Ballad: Shinryu’s Domain or purchased from Eschina for 99 Shinryu Totems. To unlock this trial, complete the quest Songs in the Key of Kugane, which is both accepted and completed by talking to the Wandering Minstrel in Kugane.

Lunar Kamuy

This Kamuy has a chance of dropping from Tsukuyomi in The Minstrel’s Ballad: Tsukuyomi’s Pain. Alternatively, it can be purchased from Eschina for 99 Lunar Totems. To unlock this trial, complete the quest Songs in the Key of Kugane, which is both accepted and completed by talking to the Wandering Minstrel in Kugane.

Reveling Kamuy

The Reveling Kamuy is dropped by Susano in The Pool of Tribute or bought from Eschina for 99 Revel Totems. To unlock this trial, complete the quest Songs in the Key of Kugane, which is both accepted and completed by talking to the Wandering Minstrel in Kugane.

Fabled Kamuy

This final Kamuy is earned by completing the quest A Lone Wold No More, available to players who have obtained all the other Kamuys. To unlock this trial, complete the quest Songs in the Key of Kugane, which is both accepted and completed by talking to the Wandering Minstrel in Kugane.

Rathalos

This draconic mount is a drop from The Great Hunt. It can also be bought from Smithy in Kugane for 50 Rathalos Scale+. The quest is accepted and completed by speaking with the questgiver, making this a quick unlock. This extreme trial is easy to unlock; all the player needs is speak with the Hearty Hunter in Kugane.

Shadowbringers

Shadowbringers has 8 extreme trials, although only 7 of them drop mounts. These extreme trials are unlocked by completing two quests from two different questgivers, Minstreling Wanderer at The Crystalarium and Warmachina Fanatic in the Lochs.

Diamond Gwiber

This Gwiber is dropped by The Diamond Weapon in the Cloud Deck extreme trial. Those who have been unlucky with the drop rate can also be purchased from C’intana for 99 Diamond Totems. This trial in unlocked by speaking to the Warmachina Fanatic at The Lochs.

Emerald Gwiber

The Emerald Gwiber drops from The Emerald Weapon in Castrum Marinum. Alternatively, it can be bought from C’intana for 99 Emerald Totems. This trial in unlocked by speaking to the Warmachina Fanatic at The Lochs.

Fae Gwiber

This mount has a chance of dropping from Titania in The Dancing Plague or can be bought from Fathard for 99 King Totems. This trial is unlocked by completing the Minstrel from Another Mother quest, accepted and completed by talking to the Minstreling Wander in The Crystalarium.

Shadow Gwiber

This mount can drop from The Minstrel’s Ballad: Hade’s Elegy or purchased from C’intana for 99 Totems. This trial is unlocked by completing the Minstrel from Another Mother quest, accepted and completed by talking to the Minstreling Wander in The Crystalarium.

Gwiber of Light

The Gwiber of Light can drop from The Seat of Sacrifice. Alternatively, it can be purchased for 99 Totems from Fathard. This trial is unlocked by completing the Minstrel from Another Mother quest, accepted and completed by talking to the Minstreling Wander in The Crystalarium.

Ruby Gwiber

This Gwiber drops from The Ruby Weapon in Cinder Drift. It can also be bought from C’intana for 99 Ruby Totems. This trial in unlocked by speaking to the Warmachina Fanatic at The Lochs.

Innocent Gwiber

This Gwiber drops from Innocence in The Crown of the Immaculate or purchased 99 Immaculate Totems from Fathard. This trial is unlocked by completing the Minstrel from Another Mother quest, accepted and completed by talking to the Minstreling Wander in The Crystalarium.

Landerwaffe

After players have collected all the above Gwiber mounts, the quest, The Dragon Made, becomes available to them. Completing it will earn them the Landerwaffe mount.

Endwalker

Endwalker currently only has two Extreme trial mounts for players to earn, becoming unlockable at level 90. Trials drop 1 token per kill. 99 of these can be exchanged for the same mount that drops from the trial from Nesvaaz in Radz-at-Han.

Lynx of Divine Light

This cat-like mount is dropped by Hydaelyn from the trial The Minstrel’s Ballad: Hydaelyn’s Call. This trial is unlocked by completing the I Wandered Sharlayan as a Minstrel quest, accepted and completed by speaking to the Wandering Minstrel in Old Sharlayan. If players are unlucky with the drop chance, this mount can also be bought for 99 Astral Totems from Nesvaaz.

Lynx of Eternal Darkness

The Lynx of Eternal Darkness has a chance of dropping from Zodiark in the trial The Minstrel’s Ballad: Zodiark’s Fall or can be bought from Nesvaaz for 99 Umbral Totems. This trial is unlocked by completing the I Wandered Sharlayan as a Minstrel quest, accepted and completed by speaking to the Wandering Minstrel in Old Sharlayan.

While there are currently only two extreme trial mounts in Endwalker, both are worth picking up, and there will likely be more in the future!

These extreme trial mounts will take a good bit of grinding to get. The drop chances for all of them are quite low, and all players in the party will be allowed to roll for them if they do drop. In addition, it can take up to 15 hours to collect 99 totems to buy the mounts instead of waiting for them to drop! However, if players wish to, they can choose not to sync and run older extreme trials solo, meaning that if the mount drops, it is theirs to claim.

However, this isn’t an option for the two new extreme trial mounts found in Endwalker. Getting ahold of these two cat-like steeds will be quite the achievement, considering they are current content!

Dead Ends is a level 90 dungeon in the Final Fantasy 14 Endwalker. In this mission, you will be tasked to overcome the enemies of the dying world. To unlock the Dean Ends, you need to accept Endwalker’s main scenario quest from NPC Alphinaud in Ultima Thule. The dungeon is full of toxic puddles en route to the bosses, so avoid them at all cost.

Caustic Grebuloff

• Miasmata – The wind will start blowing just right before the boss cast this mechanic. After that, a few orbs will start to spawn around the arena and will start to move in the direction of the wind. Move to a safe spot to avoid damage.

• Cough up – Sets of puddle AOE will spawn in the arena. Spread out to avoid overlapping damage.

• Craven companionship – All players will be marked and you need to group to avoid damage and lose character.
• Wave of nausea – A large AOE covering the area runs beneath the boss to avoid damage.

• Pox flail – A tank buster that is aimed at the primary tank target. Heal and cool down as necessary.

• Blighted water – Stack marker will be targeted at a random player. Group up to spread the damage among the players.

• Befoulment – AOE circle attack will be targeted at all players. spread out to avoid overlapping damage. All these mechanics will be repeated.

Peacekeeper

• Decimation – Raid-wide AOE damage which covers the edge. Move away from the edge to avoid damage.

• Electromagnetic repellant – A consistent AOE damage will be spawned beneath the boss. Move away to avoid damage

• Order to fire – Few bits will spawn around the boss and fire a straight line beam. At the same time, all players will be marked with a stack. So spread out to avoid overlapping damage.

• No future – AOE is created in a pattern around the arena. Spread out to avoid overlapping damage.

• Peace fire – AOE rotates around the arena and at the same time, electromagnetic repellant and order to fire will be cast. Move around and avoid these mechanics to minimize the damage.

• Eclipsing exhaust – AOE will be created around the arena and players will be knocked back from the center. Position yourself from the AOE to avoid damage.

• Elimination – A tank buster is aimed at the primary tank target. Heal and cool down as necessary

Ra-La

• Warm glow – Raid-wide AOE to sell party members. The healer must be ready to heal as necessary.

• Pity – A tank buster that is aimed at the primary target. Heal and cooldown as necessary

• Prance – The boss will jump in a pattern and create an AOE circle. Players must follow the boss until the last AOE circle to avoid damage.

• Lifesbreath – The boss jumps to the edge and cast a line AOE and at the same time butterflies will appear. Stand behind the butterflies to avoid getting blasted. If a player did get hit, you will be inflicted with Doom. Heal to 100% and you will be free from the debuff.

• Benevolence – A stack marker will be placed on a random player. Group up to spread the damage among the party.

• Loving embrace – A wing will be lifted to cast these mechanics. Just move to the opposite side of the wing to avoid damage. Second-time loving embrace will combine with Lifesbreath so move out and jump accordingly to avoid damage.

• Still embrace – Target all players with AOE markers. Spread out to avoid overlapping damage. All these mechanics will be repeated until the boss is down.

Dohn Mheg is a level 73 dungeon in Final Fantasy 14 Shadowbringer. Your mission will be meeting Lightwarden in the land of fairies but before that, you need to get the key in Dohn Mheg. To unlock this dungeon, you need to accept the main scenario quest “The key to the quest” from NPC Sul Uin. Before meeting the first boss, we need to go through the mini-golf course and kill some small monsters and AOE damage.

Aerc Thon (Lord of the lingering gaze)

• Candy cane – Heavy-hitting tank buster. Cooldown and heal as necessary.

• Hydro fall – Boss will target the ground beneath the player with an AOE circle blast. Move away to avoid damage
• Laughing leap – The boss will target the ground with an AOE circle or with a stack-up market at any random player. If a player is marked, move together and spread the damage. If only an AOE circle then avoid that particular area.

• Landsblood – Few puddles will be formed in the area. The first phase is when the puddle appears and it is calm. In the second phase, the puddle of water begins to bubble, indicating it will burst. Avoid this bubble to minimize the damage and debuff. All of these mechanics will repeat until the boss is down.

Griaule

• Swinge – Massive frontal cone AOE attack. Move away to avoid damage.

• Fodder – The boss will go to the center and summons saplings that are connected to the boss with a tether. Intercept the tether and reverse the sapling power. This sapling will increase damage dealt and reduce the damage taken by the boss.

• Tiiimmberrrrr – Group-wide AOE blast. Heal as necessary. At the same time, the boss will try to eat the saplings to gain power, intercept the tether as much as you can to avoid the boss getting stronger.

• Coiling ivy – Target each player and trap them in a clump of roots. You can avoid this by using range AOE to hit them. All these mechanics will repeat until the boss is down.

Aenc Thon (Lord of the lengthsome gait)

• Crippling blow – Heavy hit tank buster. Cooldown and heal as necessary.
• Virtuosic Capriccio – Group-wide AOE damage with a bleed debuff. Healers be ready to heal.

• Imp choir – Gaze attack that you should avoid because it will turn you into an imp.
• Toad choir – The boss blasts a large frontal AOE towards a random player. Avoid this because it will turn you into a frog.

• Ponambulist’s fantasia – The boss jumps to the edge and cast this spell which will knock the players and create a big gap with a tight rope path.

• Finale – This cast should be stopped if not you will die. Without falling, you need to go through the tight rope path to continue attacking its lair and destroy it. Watch your step and do not fall and if you do fall, you will be sent back to the start of the arena.

• Changeling’s fantasia – Once the lair is destroyed, the boss jumps back to the middle, casts this, and turns to a shade of fear. Avoid frontal AOE attack and also avoid the tentacles. Then it will turn back to its normal form and all these mechanics will continue until the boss is down.

Castrum Marinum is a level 80 dungeon in Final Fantasy 14 Shadowbringers included in Patch 5.4. For this quest, you need to have an item level 470 and unlock it by accepting it Blood of the emerald through the NPC resistance officer in Porta Pretoria in The Lochs. To get to Terncliff, you need to turn 180 degrees and walk to meet the NPC resistance escort that will take you to Terncliff. This dungeon has 2 phases.

Phase 1

• Emerald shot – A primary tank buster that targets the tank. Heal and cool down as necessary.
• Emerald beam – This is a rotating attack from the front and back of the boss that rotates. At the same time, the boss will also summon a ring that rotates together. Avoid both of them and moving around alot here is neccessary.

• Magitek magnetism – Several mines will spawn in an AOE circle which will explode after some time. Two of the mine will be tethered together with a similar magnet and pushed apart before exploding. Players need to identify the correct mine that will explode and stand in a safe zone.

• Optimized ultima – High raid-wide damage to all the party members. Heal and shield as necessary.

• Split – The lower half of the boss disappears, and the boss will blast an AOE attack that will push back the players. Position yourself accordingly to avoid falling off the edge.

• Sidescathe – One side of the room will start to glow, indicating an AOE is coming. Players need to move away to the opposite side to avoid damage from the attack.

The Continuation

• Knockback – A blue circular AOE will appear on the platform, and the lower half of the boss will return and slam into this circle creating a knockback attack that will throw you off the edge. Move away from that circle or use knockback immunity to minimize the damage.
• Emerald beam – The outer edge of the platform will be destroyed, and players will have a lesser place to fight with.

• Donuts – Several hands will appear and start attacking. Move into the hitbox at the center to avoid the attack.

• Divide Et Impera – A high damage that attacks the primary tank. Heal and shield as necessary.

• Pulse laser- Random player will be targeted for the attack. Move away when you see these beams.

• Hand formation – Releases multiple orbs that will attack the players. Dodge this attack as necessary. All these mechanics will repeat until the next transition of the fight.

Phase 2

• Divide Et Impera – A tankbuster on the primary target added with AOE on the other players. Heal and move away as necessary.

• Primus terminus est – 3 Circle AOE and 3 blue lane knockback AOE will appear. Avoid getting into the blue lane and into the circle to avoid multiple damages. Players will be marked with blue arrows and they get knocked in that direction.

• Secundus terminus est – Random players will be marked with “x” or “+”. AOE will appear beneath them and have a wide range so players need to move to a safe spot to avoid damage.

• Tertius terminus est – Three sets of swords will drop and explode causing huge wide AOE damage. Run to a safe spot to avoid this damage.

• Legio phantasmatis – A black wolf will appear and will attack the tank. Then several soldiers will appear on the edge and start firing. One lane will be safe each round. Players need to find a safe spot for each line of soldiers to avoid damage. After 3 lines they will dissapear. All the mechanics will be repeated until the boss is destroyed.

The First Beast

The first boss of Amaurot uses a variety of AoE attacks in its encounter.

Venomous Breath: The First Beast casts a cone-shaped AoE directly in front of itself. Tanks should always face the Beast away from the party.

Earthquake: A close-ranged, circular AoE that the boss casts around itself.

Meteor Rain: This mechanic targets three players with enormous AoE markers. Players need to spread out to avoid stacking the damage. After the initial hit, Meteor Rain deals with a proximity blast and fires AoE damage circles in straight lines. Once Meteor Rain has finished, meteors will be left on the arena floor. These will be used to deal with The Final Sky when the boss casts it.

The Falling Sky: This ability creates large AoE markers that players should avoid.

The Final Sky: The boss does area-wide damage after a short cast time. Players should stand behind one of the meteors left behind by Meteor Rain. This is followed by a large, square AoE marker with a safe zone on the side of the arena furthest from the boss.

The Burning Sky: The Burning Sky targets all players with AoE markers. Players should spread to avoid stacking damage.

Terminus Bellwether

A fairly simple boss, Terminus Bellwether is the second encounter in Amaurot.

Shrill Shriek: This mechanic does light party-wide damage and summons a group of enemies. Tanks should face these enemies away from the group and dodge AoE markers. Some of these enemies will focus on random players and need to be killed quickly to not take out any of the DPS or healer. Focus on the tethered mobs first.

Burst: This mechanic is a slow cast that will wipe the party if allowed to complete. DPS players will need to burn the boss down before it finishes the cast.

Chthonic Riddle, Therion

The final boss of Amaurot is fought on a floating platform that players can fall off. As the fight progresses, the platform available to stand on decreases.

Shadow Wreck: This ability does unavoidable party-wide damage. Every time cast, it also covers the zone behind Therion in fire, so players should never stand behind it. Tanks and healers should shield and heal through it.

Apokalypsis: The boss fires a massive line AoE of damage across the arena. Players should avoid this by moving to the small outcroppings on the sides of the platform. Once Therion has reached the last bit of platform, Apokalypsis will destroy those outcroppings with each cast, so it must be killed quickly at that point.

Therion Charge will leap forward a certain distance and deal proximity damage. Players should run away to avoid the damage and quickly return to the boss whenever this happens.

Deathly Ray: This mechanic comprises two attacks coming from three different sources. Floating skulls will appear outside the platform and fire AoE beams that damage any players in them. This occurs twice, one after the other on opposite sides of the platform. Therion can also fire a line of AoE beams on its own. 

Pandaemonium is the primary raid in the Final Fantasy 14 Endwalker. There are 4 circles of Asphodelos and today we will learn how to defeat the boss in the first circle raid.

How to unlock

Once you defeated Zenos, visit Nemjiji on Old Sharlayan. Nest you will be asked to go to Aporia to meet Claudien. Once done visit Crystarium and go to Ocular to meet the gatekeeper there. Use the portal to teleport to a new area and meet Themis. Then you will complete the “The crystal from beyond” quest. The raid will become available through the duty finder. All party members need to be at item level 565 and level 90 to participate in this raid.

Erichthonios

This is a fully armored boss that swings the flail to bring damage to players. The area outside the arena is deadly so never step your foot there.

• Gaelor’s flail – The boss will swing his flail on either side of his body. The player must move to the opposite side to avoid damage from the swing of the flail.

• Warden’s wrath – This will deal a high raid-wide blast to all the members of the party. Healer be ready to heal and shield as necessary.

• Pitiless flail – Will target a random player with line AOE. The targeted player will be knocked back so this player must go as close as he can to the boss to avoid being knocked off the arena or use knockback immunity to minimize the knockback

• True holy – The targeted player then will be marked for stack-up immediately after the pitless flail mechanic. All players must group together to spread the damage.

• Heavy hand – A powerful tank buster that will target the primary tank target. Healers must heal and cool down as necessary.

• Intemperance – All players will be marked with cold or hot debuff spells. The arena will be separated into four quadrants with each pillar having 3 segments of hot or cold tiles. When the mechanic is cast, it will explode one segment of the pillar to give high damage and debuff players with the same mark-up spell. Players need to move into the quadrant of the opposite spell to avoid damage.

• Once all have exploded, the arena will be back to normal with another raid-wide AOE blast and tank buster.

The continuation

• Shining cells – This will change the arena to a circular area with blue and red wedges like a dartboard. This will damage the players and be followed up by multiple uses of aetherchain.

• Aetherchain – At this moment the boss will be orbited by red or blue colored orbs. Once cast, either all the red sections or the blue section will explode. Look at the orbiting orbs carefully and stand on the opposite color of the section to avoid damage.

• Aetherflail + chain – The will still have the orbiting orbs but this time will swing the flail. Players need to go to the opposite side of the swing and stand on the opposite section of the colored orb.

• Slam shut – High raid-wide damage will be cast to all the members of the party and the platform will get back to normal. Heal as necessary. All these mechanics will repeat until the boss is down.

Wondrous Tails

First off, Wondrous Tails can grant half a level from one completion, so remember to take care of those during a gap in other leveling methods. The best way to complete this book is to do all the extreme trial bosses, then reset with a second chance point and repeat until all stickers are completed. Doing all nine stickers won’t take longer than 10 minutes, which is not long for a total of half a level in EXP. Players should try and do this with their alt whenever they can.

Dungeons

Endwalker dungeons are also an awesome alt-leveling method. Players should stack as many EXP bonuses as they can, and if they can form a group with a tank or a healer (or even form a whole party) queue times can be very quick.

If you are a tank or a healer, dungeons are probably the fastest way to grind EXP. Queue times will be extremely quick, allowing players to complete many dungeons back-to-back. While this may get tedious for some, it is an extremely efficient method to hit level cap.

It is also an option to run dungeons using the Trust System to build a party of NPCs. This method is somewhat viable for DPS players facing long queue times for the Duty Finder or who have exhausted their Daily Roulettes, but it can grow tedious quickly. This can be a nice alternative method when players have grown tired of other methods or during slow times of the day.

Endwalker FATEs

Endwalker FATEs are a great way to level alts in FFXIV and are a solid method to grind Gil as well. They also give a lot more EXP than other expansions FATEs. Flying should be unlocked in areas that the player plans on grinding FATEs. The best leveling zones are Thavnair and Elpis. There are often high densities of players in these zones, which makes FATE grinding much faster. This means that more EXP can be farmed in less time, making it a very efficient method.

If the FATEs are currently scarce for the player, it is possible to just switch to another instance to check for availability. Player density can be different across instances and zones, and this method helps players maximize their efficiency.

Pixie tribe quests are a small and quick option. They take less than five minutes and grant 1 million EXP for flying across map, clicking on objectives, and occasionally fighting enemies. Only one can be completed per day, players can accept more than one at a time and complete both the next day. Guildship hunts can also be done this way. Shadowbringers’ FATEs should be prioritized over Guildship Hunts however, as they provide more EXP more efficiently. Players should just grab as many Guildship Hunts as they can, then complete whichever ones they run into on their way to FATEs in Shadowbringers’ zones.

Bozja

Bozja and Zadnor Skirmishes are also solid ways to level alts. Each Skirmish completed grants 330,000 EXP and Critical Engagements grant 800,000. Both Skirmishes and Critical Engagements can be completed very quickly, making them an efficient method for grinding EXP. Another advantage to this method is that players won’t need any equipment beyond the basic vendor items. At the same time as they are grinding EXP, players can also seek out any of the Relic Weapons that they are currently missing, which is another plus when leveling alts.

Each method for fast leveling of alts takes roughly the same amount of time. This means that players can choose whichever path they prefer and still grind a substantial amount of EXP regardless of how they choose to approach the process. Players can choose to focus solely on one type of grinding to maximize the type of rewards they get alongside leveling, or they can use a mix of the different methods to provide some more engaging diversity to their EXP grinding.

Akadaemia Anyder is a level 80 dungeon in Final Fantasy 14 Shadowbringers which was included in patch 5.0. In this mission, you need to fight through the derelict library of the Ancient Ones. To unlock this you need to accept the Akadaemia Anyder side quest from NPC Overwrought Ondo in Eulmore. There will be a lot of monsters that you can pull together before killing them and going to the 3 bosses that are waiting.

Cladoselache and Doliodus

• Protolithic puncture – A high damage tank buster targeted at the primary tank target. Cool down and heal as necessary.
• Tidal guillotine – Large point-blank AOE attack around the boss. Move out to a safe spot to avoid damage.

• Pelagic cleaver – Cladoselache will jump into the water and Doliodus will jump into the arena to cast a large frontal cone AOE. Move away to a safe spot to avoid damage.

• Swimming guillotine – A frontal AOE attack on the platform in front of the swimming boss. Move away to a safe spot to avoid damage.

• Shark swap – Both bosses will alternate between platform and water to create damage to the players.

• Aquatic lance – A random player will be targeted with a circle AOE marker. Spread away from other party members as this marker will change to a water puddle to give high damage to that random player.

• Swimming cleaver – AOE attack in the platform in front of the swimming boss. Move to the side of the swimming boss to avoid damage. Both the boss will alternately move into the water and platform until you kill one of them.

• Marine mayhem – The boss will cast a group-wide AOE blast to all the party members. Healers be ready to heal as necessary. These mechanics will repeat until the boss is destroyed. 

Marquis Morbol

• Sap shower – All players will be marked up with large AOE circles. Spread out to avoid overlapping damage.

• Arbor storm – This is a group-wide AOE attack that targets all the party members. Healer be ready to heal as necessary.

• Extensible tendrils – The boss will pick up his tendrils and slam at the platform to give damage to players. The boss will also move around to slam in different areas. Move between the tentacles as necessary

• Bile vomit – This will be cast immediately after the extensible tendrils. Stay on her side to avoid damage.

• Blossom – Specific flowers will spawn in the arena which is an AOE attack. Stay out of these areas to avoid damage. All these mechanics will repeat and overlap until the boss is down.

• Noahionto – Before you reach the final boss, you will fight with some monster that will cast a group-wide AOE blast. This cast can be interrupted so use your skill wisely

Quetzalcoatl

• Shockbolt – A tank buster targeted at the primary target. Heal and cool down as necessary.

• Thunderbolt – Group-wide AOE blast that targets all the party members. Healers be ready to heal as necessary.

• Thunderstorm – Ground AOE circle will appear with an AOE marker on all the players. Spread out to avoid overlapping damage.

• Damage + orbs – Will spawn purple color orbs on the platform. Steal as much as you can because it will grant damage up buff.

• Shocking plumage – Will create four conal AOE attacks around the boss. Run to a safe spot to avoid damage.

• Winding current – Several orbs will spawn in the platform and the boss will cast a knockback. As soon as this is done, run to the hitbox near the boss to avoid the AOE attack from the growing orbs. These mechanics will repeat until the boss is down.

This is the second new raid made available by patch 6.01 in the Final Fantasy 14 Endwalker. In this second circle, we dive into the secrets of Elpis where the mighty jail of Pandaemonium lies. Here you will be fighting Hippokampos in a squared arena with raised platforms and gates. When the fight starts the outer edge of the arena becomes a blue zone and if you touch it, will kill you instantly.

Phase one

• Murky Deaths – Will deal high raid-wide damage so shield and heal as necessary.

• Doubled impact – This is a shared tankbuster that the primary tank can be immune through or should be shared by both tanks with a cooldown.

• Spoken cataract – In this encounter, the boss will leap into the center of the platform. Its body and head will separate and will randomly cast this spell. A red arrow indicator will form in the direction the head is pointing and a yellow arrow indicator will form in the direction the body is pointing. The yellow indicator will be an incoming wide line attack through the boss’s body. The red arrow shows a frontal attack in front of the boss’s head. Both attacks will go off at the same time so position your player in a safe zone. Look out for the arrow always because both these attacks will be random.

• Sewage deluge – Water that debuffs players will cover the whole arena except for the raised platform. So stand on this platform and keep attacking.

Phase two

• Tainted floods – A large AOE circle will target all the players. Players need to spread to avoid overlap.

• Predatory sight – This cast will mark all players with a triangle and they need to stack with at least one other player to minimize damage.

• Shockwave – Will have a knockback indicator marked on one of the raised platforms. Players can use knockback immunity or position themself properly to avoid getting knocked into the water.

Phase three

• Dissociation – The boss’s head will fly off and park at the outer edge of the arena. After a while, the head will fire a huge line AOE inside the arena and players need to go to the other side to avoid damage.

• Coherance – The tank will be marked with a flare proximity marker and the rest of the party with a lineup marker. The tank has to stay away from the boss using cooldowns at this time and let the rest of the party take damage.

• Sewage eruption – Ground AOE attack under the players and you need to move as necessary to avoid damage. At this time dissociation and shockwave can overlap. another overlapping combo would be dissociation and sewage eruption. All these mechanics will repeat until the boss is down.

To unlock Anamnesis Anyder, you need to accept the “Beneath the Surfer” main scenario quest from Urianger in Lakelands. This is a level 80 dungeon in Final Fantasy 14 Shadowbringers introduced in patch 5.2. You will dive into the lost city of Amaurot to get information on the Ascians.

Unknown

• Fetid fang – High tank buster to the primary target. Cooldown and heal as necessary
• Scrutiny – Few orbs with Large AOE circles will appear on the platform. Players need to see the arrow in the middle to identify the explosion. Avoid damage by standing in between the orb safe zone.

• Luminous ray – Large frontal AOE blast. Move behind the boss to avoid damage.

• Inscrutability – This is high groupwide damage with bleed debuff applied on all players. Healers need to be ready to heal as necessary.

• Clone – Similar to scrutiny, two bosses will deal with the damage instead of only one. Move around to a safe zone to avoid damage.

• Clearout – this is a frontal cone attack. Do not stand in front of the boss. Focus on the boss and leave the clone only until after.
• Plain weirdness – The clone will increase the damage buff on itself. Kill it ASAP before it gets too strong. All these mechanics will repeat with increased damage until the boss is down.

Kyklops

• The final verse – A high group-wide damage to all the party members. Heal and shield as necessary.

• 2000-Mina swing – Large point-blank AOE swing that will give you knockback and high damage to anything in melee range. Position yourself properly to avoid damage.

• 2000-Mina swipe – This is a large frontal cone AOE attack. Move out from the front as soon the cast starts to avoid damage.

• Terrible hammer/blade – The boss will jump to the middle and cast this mechanic. The boxes beside will spawn either red hammer or blue blade, indicating which order they will explode(the first explodes first). Position yourself on the second first, then after the first explodes quickly go to the first.

• Raging glower – A long frontal column attack will be cast on a random player. Move out from the front of the boss to avoid damage.

• Open hearth – Will put a stack-up marker on a random player. Group together to share the damage from the boss.

• Wanderer’s pyre – Circle markers will be put on all the players. Spread from each other to avoid overlapping damage.

• Eye of the cyclone – This is a room-wide donut attack. Move into the melee range to avoid damage. This mechanics will repeat until the boss is down.

Rukshs Dheem

• Bonebreaker – targets the primary target with a tank buster. Heal and shield as necessary.

• Seabed ceremony – Group-wide damage that spawns water formation around the platform.

• Depth grip – Watery hand forms within the water formations. Avoid getting slapped to reduce the damage. The hands you need to worry about are the ones facing you.

• Rising tide – Cross-shaped AOE in the middle. Move away to avoid damage.

• Bubbling grates. Grates around the platform will start to bubble indicating an add will spawn. Stand on the grate to reduce the number of adds spawns.

• Meat shield – This adds will render the boss invulnerable with shields. Kill the adds as quickly as you can to attack back the boss.

• Depth grip (variations) – Use gaps on either side to avoid the slap. Also, avoid the grates targeted by hand because the slapping hand will block the ads that are soon to be spawned.

• Flying font – A stack-up marker will be marked on a random player. Group up together to spread the damage among the party members.

• Command current – The boss will blast large cone AOE attack. Stay in the safe zone to avoid damage. All these mechanics will be repeated until the boss is down.
