This fortress is said to be the base of operations of the Ebondrake, where their leader, the Dark Vicar, resides. Judge Juntay, once a Stratus man of justice, succumbed to the Dark Chi and became the twisted Dark Vicar; his daughter Soha storms in and seeks to rescue him from the dark clutches.
Entrance:
There will be a large amount of Ebondrake Shamans and Ice Mines in the path to the lair, run and jump over as many as possible. When you run out of stamina or get hit, pull all the shamans to the staircases and aoe them down to open the door to the first miniboss.
Miniboss: Adepts Myna & Starling
HP (Each): 7,590,000
Enrage: None
CC Bars: 2x
When you enter the room, Myna and Starling will be on a balcony above you, with several Ebondrake below. Two of the Ebondrake will be larger and spam Chi Bombs that deal unblockable heavy damage, kill these quickly then clean up the rest. Once everything is dead, Myna and Starling will teleport down to the ground.
Myna and Starling are both Soul Fighters. Myna starts in ranged stance and Starling starts in melee stance.
When one of them reaches 70%/40% HP, both of them will dash to the center and use Self Defense Chi, hit them 5 times each to remove it. A few seconds after that, they will try to use heals, double CC both of them immediately to prevent the heal.
After the attempted heal, they will each switch stances to the other one.
When one of the Adepts dies, the other one will use Slipping Lotus to resurrect the dead one and heal 40% of their health. Make sure to kill both within a few seconds of each other.
Once they are dead, a dragon pulse will open up. This leads to a descending incinerator corridor with zombies on the bottom, and a lever to the side guarded by a Naga that will activate the incinerator and kill everyone on the bottom, players and enemies alike.
After this is a corridor full of Naga, just avoid aggroing them and kill the last two guarding the boss chamber.
High Priestess Samisa
HP: 84,870,000
Enrage: 8:00
CC Bars: 2x
Roles: Poisoner, Extender 1, Extender 2, Fake Poisoner
Attack Pattern
This boss has attacks similar to Tetralisk Queen from Lair of the Frozen Fang, but with significantly faster attacks.
All of Samisa’s attacks inflict the Samisa Poison debuff, which deals DoT and slow. It can stack up to 10 times and lasts 30 seconds.
1. Double tail slam
Two linear tail slamsl, blockable, doesn’t cc.
2. Poison Gas
Linear spray of poison, causes knockback and daze, unblockable.
3. 3-Hit Spin
Spins multiple times, the last hit causes knockback and knockdown, all hits are blockable.
4. Poison Spray (Unblockable)
Sprays in a 180 degree in front of it, causes knockback and daze, unblockable.
If Samisa does three full attack rotations before the mechanic, she will jump at the farthest person, knocking back anyone hit by the jump. She will then throw a lingering poisonous puddle at the jumped person. Afterwards, she turns back to the tank and a message warns “Samisa screeches” as she releases an extremely fast cone shout with massive range and a very wide angle, also detonating any Samisa Poison stacks for massive damage.
Blood Poison (70%/30%)
When Samisa reaches the HP thresholds, she will jump to the center of the room to begin her mechanic phase (slightly different for each phase), knocking back anyone hit by the jump.
Samisa will start off by grabbing the farthest person, aerial them, and applying Blood Poison to them. The poison lasts 20 seconds, if it expires it will explode and damage the whole party.
She will then shoot 3 poison pools at the poisoner, which they should keep away from the boss. During this the first extender should move away from the boss.
After the three poison pools are fired, she will shoot the “Fang” buff at the farthest person (this should be extender 1), as well as the “Fang Aftereffect” debuff that prevents the person from receiving Fang again for 30 seconds. The poisoner should move directly under the boss at this point. If the poisoner receives this extension buff, Blood Poison will explode and damage the whole party.
When Fang expires, it will create a 3m explosion, if it hits the poisoner the duration of Blood Poison will be refreshed. You must extend the poison successfully or the boss will enrage.
Samisa will jump onto the poisoner, dealing two bursts of damage, one to people within 3m of her, then one to everyone 0-8m away. The first extension will explode here.
She will then jump on the poisoner again, dealing two aoes of damage again, one to people within 3m of her, then one to everyone 8-25m away.
At 30%, she will shoot another extension at the farthest person and repeat the jumps.
After the first (70%) or second (30%) AoE rings, she will curl up and grab the closest person. This needs to be the poisoner. This will transfer the Blood Poison debuff to her, which is 20 seconds long.
As long as Samisa has the Blood Poison debuff, she will curl up and try to purify it. This takes about 5 seconds. She must be chain 2x CC’d for the full 20 seconds, best accomplished with Destroyer/Blade Dancer/Summoner/Kung Fu Master grabs or Blade Master/Blade Dancer aerials. Once her Blood Poison naturally expires, she will get aerialed and take 10% of her max HP in damage.
If Samisa fails to receive Blood Poison from the grab, or successfully purifies herself, she will do 3 field-wide unblockable AoEs. These do significant damage, and should be party i-framed. On the final jump, she will also heal 5% of her health. The boss will then return to her normal attack pattern.
Miniboss: Blighted Harpy
HP: 18,032,000
Enrage: None
CC Bars: Immune
This miniboss is simple, her attacks are similar to the melee attacks of Jinsoyun the Dark Emissary from Heaven’s Mandate. There are a few attacks to watch out for.
Heart Attack
A heart will appear above Blighted Harpy’s head, and she will shoot an unblockable projectile at the top 3 people on her aggro table. If you do not iframe this, you gain the “Temptation” debuff and force you to dance for 10 seconds, which deals damage over time and is inescapable. 2 stacks of this is instant death.
Heart Pull
At 70%/40%, Blighted Harpy will draw everyone in the map towards her and daze them. She will then create a 12m AoE that applies Temptation, you must quickly F roll + SS away. Both of these attacks cannot be iframed. If you are hit by the dance attack while you are already dancing (from Heart Attack), you will instantly die.
The AoE created will linger for a bit, which just deals constant damage.
Dark Vicar
HP: 79,810,000
Enrage: 7:00
CC Bars: 2x
Roles: Tank, 2-3 Soul Separation, Real World ball blocker.
Attack Pattern:
Every attack inflicts one stack of the “Ebondrake Energy” debuff if not blocked/iframed, this lasts 45 seconds. On five stacks this becomes “Brand” which deals 7,768 damage per second and immobilizes you for 3 seconds.
1. Double Swipe:
Swipes with arms two times, blockable and doesn’t CC.
2. Side Burst:
Turns sideways and throws his arms out forwards and backwards, unblockable and dazes.
3. Beam & Frontal AOE:
Shoots a linear beam in front of him, then swipes his arms in front of him, damaging anyone hit by it, both are blockable and doesn’t CC.
4. Large Double Swipe:
Swipes with arms twice, but larger than before. Blockable and doesn’t CC. You can CC the boss during this attack for grabs/grapples.
5. Spin Attack:
Swings his arms around him, then does an unblockable spin that damages and knocks back everyone 0-15m away from him.
Far Attack:
If the tank gets too far from the boss, he will throw an unblockable projectile at the tank that knocks them back, then teleport on top of them if they are still too far.
Grab + Slam:
After about 2 attack rotations, Dark Vicar will try to grab the farthest person and slam them onto the ground. The grab and slam will do damage to everyone, so everyone should iframe this. He will then shoot a dark orb at the top three people on the aggro table.
Mechanics Phase (70%/30%):
At these thresholds Dark Vicar will jump to the center of the arena, knocking back anyone standing there. A message warns “The Dark Vicar casts Soul Separation on someone” and he then targets the farthest person with a zap, sending them and up to two additional people close by into Soul Separation.
After the zap, he will resume attacking the tank with his attack pattern radically changing.
Push -> Stab ->2x Slam -> Side Burst -> Stab (-> AOE suction can be CC’d at 30%)
Push:
Does a burst attack that knocks back, blockable.
Stab:
Stabs his arm at the tank, knocking everyone back who’s hit by it. Blockable.
2x Slam:
Slams his arms on the tank two times, knocks back and blockable
AOE Suction:
At 30%, the boss will try to pull everyone towards him, this should be CC’d by people on the outside with a stun. Do not knock down or the boss will forcibly eject people out of Soul Separation.
Note: During this phase the boss will not change anything if the tank is too far. If the tank has built enough threat, they can stand at the wall and just hold block to avoid all the attacks.
Soul Separation:
Demonic Energy Shaman: 152,720 HP
When the zapped people go into soul separation, they will gain the “Soul Separation” debuff and the “Demonic Energy Immunity” buff for 1 minute, if the former expires you will die. There will be four shamans holding a ball over their head, one at each of the ordinal directions.
You must kill all four of the shamans ASAP. When they die, a message warns “An incomplete Demonic Energy Bomb rips through time and space and appears” and their ball will drop onto the ground and create a shockwave that can be iframed or jumped over.
When 40 seconds have passed, Dark Vicar will lift everyone without the Demonic Energy Immunity before doing an AoE which will inflict massive damage but remove Soul Separation if it succeeds. He must be knocked down by the people in soul separation. Note that Summoner’s cats will not receive Demonic Energy Immunity and will be unable to CC. Any Shamans that also have not been killed will feed their ball to Dark Vicar, granting him the “Demonic Energy” buff which increases damage and heal 5% of his health, if he absorbs 3 he will heal 25% of his max HP but lose the buff.
He will perform a getup attack that takes everyone out of soul separation. If not knocked down, the people in soul separation will not get taken out and will die from their debuff.
Dark Vicar will then slam the floor 5 times, use a party iframe to protect from this, and return to his normal attack pattern.
Real World:
When the soul separation people kill the shamans, the ball that drops will appear in the real world where the shaman was, and start moving towards Dark Vicar. You must block/counter/parry these balls to destroy them. Otherwise, keep DPSing the boss until the lift.
