When Matheus Valadares, a Brazilian game developer, first released agar.io in 2015, it’s hard to believe I truly understood the sensation that he created.
On the back of this game’s success, hundreds of other developers have dived into this new genre. Different games featuring somewhat unique mechanics and perspectives were soon on the market, to the stage where today. I love following gaming trends, that they have built a new gaming genre around the original Agar.io has always fascinated me.

The key difference being that your edibles also move around the map, so to survive, you need to get bigger much faster, unlike other games in the genre.
You can either pay for free or get a gold membership. This gives you access to nicknames and other skins. On top of these additional features, you start double the size of everybody else and are offered a crown in the chat option.
